I think I told you that my son has anxiety issues, my sister actually does too. It is kinda baffling to me, I have gotten upset a few times even though I know they can't help it.

So here is what was weird yesterday. We had ordered furniture to be delivered and it was well past the delivery time. I was still swamped with everything like cooking and laundry and getting ready for the week, I called on the delivery but needed more follow up. So my son took over, he called the 800 number and then got the local number, then checked on everything like if the shipment was on the truck. He sounds much older on the phone, very responsible and capable. But he missed 6 weeks of school and had all his finals at home because it was causing severe anxiety to walk into a high school.

I do very much appreciate what he can do well, he put together the table and will do the chairs today. He is also very caring, his best friend will be at our house a lot since the family is having trauma and my son told me about it. I am hoping we can work out a better school situation and a job for him overall. My sister seems to do fine, no one would know she is anxious, but I know she takes the maximum medication for the last day of school or any teacher parties or even to host a BBQ with family at home.

It is very common for folks with anxiety and/or depression to be excellent in "crisis" situations. It is life's day to day minutiae that is overwhelming.
