Love it! Could totally see myself living there. Just need to find a lake to live on.

I know somewhere where the writer stays pretty serene...

Why is it nearly impossible to find structures like this--clean, modern architecture--on land? Instead, there are acres of builder bland. Arrrgh.

I've seen similar houseboats in the Clyde River in New South Wales. Some of them are used as holiday homes. I think they're great.

I love it! Would love to live on a houseboat like this. And I also wouldn't mind a house like this on land.

One, in a far Downeast part of Maine I saw such a cool guest/in-law house--it was a land-locked old wooden cabin cruiser on land and set up on blocks, with a nifty staircase to access. Those old classic cabin cruisers have beautiful wooden interiors and a lot of cunning built-in spaces. It's been on my mind ever since. Doesn't matter if the in-board motor works, as long as the hull and decks are waterproof. Could probably buy one for a song with a frozen engine and have such a wonderful abode.

And come the flood, ocean rise, you'd be good to go...
