This sucks so much. James Gandolfini died suddenly today at the age of 51.

I didn't see The Sopranos until a few years after the run was finished. Tony got me through the most difficult period I'd ever had at work, at time when technology and employees completely sucked.

I had no idea going into it that I would love the Sopranos as much as I did. But Tony, Paulie, Carmella--they were compelling to watch. They distracted me from the problems of no functioning computer on my desk, 1/3 of staff out on FMLA, responsibility of running a service when I couldn't even access the basic electronic files, etc.

Tony, I love you and will miss you!

This news actually made my jaw drop when I heard it on the way home from work. I agree; those were some compelling characters. RIP, James.

This is very sad, indeed. You know, I have never watched The Sopranos, although I would like to. (Never had control of the remote when it was running) But I saw Gandolfini in a movie called, "Welcome to the Rileys," and if you ever get the chance, rent it. He was wonderful.

I wonder if heart disease runs in his family? Sad.

He had a comic side too---one of my favorite movies, "Get Shorty" features Gandolfini as a bodyguard tough guy with a soft side.

In The Mexican, he played a hit man tough guy with a soft side. :)
