I am a second year beekeeper. Last year I was stung just one time. This year I have several more hives and have been getting stung on a regular basis. I have suffered for several years from arthritis in my big toes, and from an over active bladder. This spring, after getting stung about six times, twice on the same day, I noticed that the arthritis pain was nearly gone, and the bladder issues had subsided. Then I went about five weeks without getting stung, and the problems increased. But, in the past three weeks I have been stung every week, and I am getting better again! I had no idea that bee venom could help with these issues. I did some research on line, and found anecdotal evidence that it does.
This is incredible! I had cortisone shots previously in my toes which, besides hurting like the devil, only kept the pain at bay for a few weeks. My bees are awesome! Besides propagating all the plants around in a three square mile area, and giving me fantastic floral honey, they are making me healthier.
Have you used bee venom? Is so, what for, and how did it work for you?
