My new favorite gardening tool.

Its called a "Telesco weeder". I've had one for a long time, but for some strange reason, I didn't think I liked it. Then I got it out recently and tried it again, and its great! And its become DH's favorite tool too. (He loves to weed. What the heck is wrong with him???). Google it and you'll see it. Its not cheap.....something close to $40, but it is SO useful. You pull it towards you and it cuts weeds and digs down into the soil too. It fits in small spaces, or you can use it in larger areas. You can make it small or make it about 6' long. (telescoping).
Just thought I'd pass it along, since it isn't always easy finding a good weeding tool. Now, if we could only get it to weed the garden without our help, we'd be all set. :~)

Neat! I looked it up and it's like a smaller hula hoe. I use the hula hole all the times, but it would be nice to have a narrow one like that to get in between plants.

I bought a hula hoe this year too. It does great for very short weeds, but not for bigger ones. I think we need to sharpen it, even though they don't mention that.
The Telesco weeder seems really sharp........or rather, its a very thin piece of steel, and it really cuts the weeds, and it pulls up soil at the same time, so it cultivates too. I love it! Oh.......and you can make it short or long. DH likes to get on his knees to weed, so he makes it short. I like to stand up, so I make it longer. I can highly recommend it. I just have no idea why I put it in the corner a few years ago and didn't like it. Its our favorite now! In fact, I bought another one so DH and I can weed at the same time.

P.S. We have the smaller version of the Telesco weeder (to use as a really short hand tool), and we don't like that one.

I need to have my hula hoe sharpened now and then.
I'm going to keep my eyes open for a deal on one of those Telesco weeders!
