I have googled and so far haven't found anything close to what I am looking for, so again I turn to you. I am 61 years old, and I have noticed that my breasts, (especially right one), is VERY tender. When lying in bed on my back sometimes my cat hops on the bed and wants to knead on me before lying down. If he happens to get on my breast it is very, very painful. And also I have noticed when I am on a massage table face down it is quite uncomfortable. Maybe this is just normal as the breasts are not as dense and full. I feel almost as if this is BEHIND the breast actually. Maybe bones? Just wondering if others have experienced this and if so what your take on it is. So far when I google this I come up with breast soreness related to periods, pregnancy etc. and none of those fit me! Just sitting here, if I feel my breasts they are not sore or tender, it is just when I am lying down and and pressure is against them.
Two reponses: first, get it checked out. FYI, breast cancer is not painful! So it's unlikely to be breast cancer. Second, when I went in for post-menopausal spotting, my Gyn told me that it's possible I had ovulated! Oy. I have episodic breast tenderness, and assume it's hormonal fluctuations, as that still happens. Have you googled post menopausal breast tenderness, AKA mastalgia?

I suffered terribly 2 weeks a month from 30 till last year 51, with this issue. Water pills, midol. Strangely it stopped last fall. Guess I m in reverse of you.

Noncyclic pain is most common in women 30 to 50 years of age. It may occur in only one breast. It is often described as a sharp, burning pain that occurs in one area of a breast. Occasionally, noncyclic pain may be caused by a fibroadenoma or a cyst. If the cause of noncyclic pain can be found, treating the cause may relieve the pain.
