View Full Version : National Park.....On the Moon?
It would appear that a couple of our Democrat Congresspersons have proposed legislation that would establish a national historical park on the surface of the moon to mark where the Apollo missions landed between 1969 and 1972. http://thehill.com/blogs/floor-action/house/309829-dems-propose-historical-park-on-the-moon
The measure would allow the government to accept donations from companies and foreign governments to help manage the landing sites and "provide visitor services and administrative facilities within reasonable proximity to the Historical Park."
Really?
Will the facilities follow the most recent ADA standards for accessible design?

And we're expected to go visit and support this park?
Will there be public transportation between the park and Gingrich's moon colony (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/01/25/newt-gingrich-moon-colony_n_1232426.html)? Perhaps DH and I could take our second honeymoon there.
I can't imagine the gravity of this situation. :~)

LOL!
How do I apply for a Ranger's job?
Planting trees should be interesting..........
This has been an amusing thread, really, but in actuality, I have some guilt over the fact that I am just really not bought into the space program. SO-o-o-o much money! Couldn't we use it more practically down here on Earth? It feels almost unpatriotic to have these feelings. ugh.
I don't think you need to feel that way Kay. I feel the same way. I want people to leave the moon (and space) alone.........and not get our grubby little hands on what is so beautiful and mysterious.

For sure. They should sell the development rights to build a golf resort. Alan Shepard already laid out the first hole (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZLl3XwlAIE).

Ouch! :)
Didn't Richard Branson already buy the moon for his Virgin-Atlantic landing base? If not yet, then soon :-)
Humans can be so silly. (Let's see..........here's a moon icon ....:moon:)
