Hi everyone,
I am applying for an internal/lateral job at my employer. I was told that even though it's within the library (where I now work), I still have to go through the online application process. It doesn't differ for internal candidates vs. external.
The thing that is tripping me up a bit is: the cover letter. Do I address it to anyone in particular? I am on a first-name basis with the HR director, but I feel funny saying "dear Mr. Smith" as if I don't know him. Or is "dear John" worse? Do I direct it to "hiring manager"? I mean, the whole thing just seems so silly and awkward since I *already work here*!
Just looking for a quick response on this one. Thank you!
