Its happening to me. At this point, I refuse to have surgery. Its my bladder mostly. Any "natural" ways to slow this down, besides Kegels, loosing weight, not lifting too much weight, etc.? I've heard about pessaries.......but.........??
Geeze.........if it isn't one thing, its 2, or 5......or 10. I'd like to spend my later years not driving my bladder around in a wheelbarrow. :0!
If you would prefer to PM me with your experience, that's fine!
Thanks.

I've had one friend have the surgery for it and she's been very happy with the results. I don't know of any natural way----sorry.

Thanks Float On. Did your friend have the mesh put in? That's sort of scary, considering the problems some have had with it.

My best friend uses a pessary. She says it's not bad, just odd at first. She's considering the surgery as well.

Hi there know where you are coming from...
I didn't realize but coughing was really making mine worse, asthma medication has helped the cought.

Also, if you have not had a doctor/therapist show you how to do the kegels in awhile they seem to know a
lot about better ways to do them now.
I went to a physical therapist for this and was also shown a lot of exercises to strengthen core muscles and they
have really helped.

Things are still not perfect but, I have taken myself off the surgery list...and no pessary...lol
Have lost 20 lbs and 20 more to go, this has also, helped with GERD.

Funny story I remember about 20 years ago laughing and giggling with dsisters and dgirlfrieds, when my dMom was told about a pressary (we had never heard of such a thing)
and now I am that same old lady..lol....Mom said no way to that and did her kegels faithfully and died without one of those things as she referred to it and
without surgery. I think the point is being consistent with doing them, I have an issue with that part.
Good luck.

Thanks redfox and danna,

Maybe I should ask my OB/GYN for a referral to a physical therapist. I hadn't even thought about that. I'd like to know how to do the right exercises.
I have a problem with being consistent about exercises too. I wear orthotics in my shoes, limp because of a bad knee for which I do exercises, (and will have to forever), have fingers that are very crooked, wear a TMJ device in my mouth at night, and use a cpap to sleep. I don't want to have to add a pessary to that list! I might get my various devices mixed up! haha
Seems like I have to spend alot of my day doing things that will keep me going. haha
I guess you could say I'm not aging very gracefully!

Thanks for your suggestions.

Someone I know has worked on improving the laparoscopic surgery option for this, so if the topic of surgery comes up, you might want to investigate newer methods.
