hey, put the link in the Review forum, that's where people look for titles to read. Talk about the book. It's not wrong to promote something now and then. Oh--I see that you've posted this in Hobbies and Creative--well then, post the book title in this forum.

Alrighty, but where do I find the Review forum for the next time?

This caught my eye whilst browsing for free E-books this afternoon. If I have faux pas-d yet again, please someone put me out of my misery and just delete. Chastisement available for a small, extra fee. :~)

This is a free download. Sometimes they are for all time...sometimes they appear and then go back to having a cost. It does not seem to have a pub date, and is in the public domain.

Things mother used to make
A collection of old time recipes, some nearly one hundre years old and...

If this does not bring memories of my grandmother (not a particularly decent person, but that is another story, 'cuz that woman could cooooook), then nothing will. Oh, yeah, sauerbraten brewing away in a crock, over there in the corner, next to the ice box. Brown butter fried brains and sweetbreads. Another crock in the basement with sauerkraut just begging to be sampled.

I love cooking, but no longer feel inspired. I cook for myself, occasionally my cat, and cook with the boys, but lately I have been thinking about meals and foods from my childhood. Most of what is in this book is easy to make and I am charmed by the measurements.

"Fried bread
After frying pork or bacon, put the fat slices of stale bread. As it fries, pour over each slice a little milk or water and salt to taste, turn and fry on the opposite side. This is a very appetizing dish."

Might I request in the future, the format of the book gets listed? (makes a difference for devices)

Edit: Found elsewhere, for free, in other formats (might even be on Project Gutenberg's site)

Me, too, but I am content to read books on the Amazon site using their cloud reader thingy. It would be better if I could find a way to take my PC with me, though.
