Sigh, I got it done before I am back to work tomorrow. That is good. And then I got the mammogram which was my first. I am a big baby, it HURT. I made them readjust and do it very fast. Based on my cycle I was very tender.

So my numb leg is because of my weight. It was even higher than the last check. I took my scale out of my bathroom so I won't weigh myself 5 times a day. My BMI is 28.4, which is high and overweight. I know that BMI is only one calculator but I have been concerned about my weight gain. I have given most of my old clothes to goodwill, I am hoping part of this is due to sedentary lifestyle of summer break. I have been snacking more on poor food and not walking nearly as much as I do during the day.

Any way feeling good I am in overall really good health, and really frustrated with the weight. I already eat super healthy most of the time, and am struggling with exercise with teh plantar fascia-ouchie, but not willing to just give up.

Oh Zoe Girl, don't beat yourself up about the weight. Slow and steady will do it. If everything else is OK that's great! You do a lot try not to add to the stress you already have.

I am giving myself a break, but I kinda gave myself too much of a break over the summer!

Going to pack my lunch for tomorrow since it is a long day

It seems like your doctor should be able to give you some weight plan help, especially if it was him or her who said you should lose. Or did they? I always wonder about that - if you're overweight, and you both know it, shouldn't the doctor be a bit pro-active about offering some advice?

When I first moved to the city I'm in, I had to change docs and was really dreading it - I haven't had the best luck with health practitioners. I went to get my physical with a new doctor, and I noticed she was enviably thin. I joked with her about how she does it. She looked up from the file and just gave me this look of withering condescension, and said, "You just eat less than you work off. It's simple math," and went back to the file. And I'm like, THANKS FOR A WHOLE LOTTA NOTHIN', you skinny b!tch from hell! Eating nothing all day make you cranky, hon? Go get a burger already!

I do really like my DR so that is fine. I realize when I started my calorie/exercise tracking on my phone again just how often I was eating way too much junk food. I didn't really want advice on eating or dieting so it is fine he didn't offer.

The one time a DR really irritated me was when I had a concern about running. I was simply running too slow for my standards based on my asthma, not muscles or fitness. When I shared my concern that I could not get to an 8 minute mile the heavier DR at first laughed. Well I know my body 10 years ago could do an 8 minute mile if the asthma was well controlled. She did give me an additional medication. Now I am just trying to get back to the 10 minute mile, this DR has never said my goals are unrealistic but also not made me feel bad for not being there. We adjusted asthma meds but I am still not up to my fitness level, however several of us at work gained over the summer and are going to support each other with healthy food and setting limits at work so we can exercise.
