I'm an octopus :)
I am a dog. I love dogs. I had a couple of dogs for 17 years and they were divine, just the best terriers in the universe and I miss them greatly. But, I would rather be a fox. Darn it. Even a meerkat would be better, marginally, although I think the description of what a meerkat represents is closer to how I see myself.
Totally fun... I took small scale test at http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/jtypes2.asp and came up as an ENFP making me a Dolphin.
I love Dolphins! And I love the water!
I've always been an extroverted loner, if that makes any sense.
Owl or Octopus. I bounce between the last two - judging and perceiving.
I'm an octopus, which delights me. I have the greatest respect for those clever cephalopods.

Another octopus here!
Well, I've always been an INFP, which makes me a meerkat, but interestingly, I retook the Myers-Briggs they had a link to and I wound up INFJ, which makes me a wolf. I love the idea that I could be a wolf, because I would see myself more of a meerkat. Being a wolf is awesome!
DH and I both vary between I and E, depending on the situation. So he is either ESTJ honeybee, which definitely fits him (and we used to have two hives of bees) or ISTJ beaver, which also totally fits him. Mister busy busy busy ...
Same with me: INFP meerkat, or ENFP dolphin, depending on the situation.
I can't imagine, being so totally opposite, how we can still be together after almost 51 years. And we're growing more "into" our types as we age ... :D ...
I have this funny page that gives prayers for the different types ... I'll find that and post it ...
INFJ or a wolf. Glad to be in wolf company, Catherine.
Cool to know that you've been with your DH for 51 years, Kestrel...and so different!

I am a meerkat which I am happy about. I am an INFP and the description is me!
Octopus or lion, depending on the day, and where I am on the introvert/extrovert scale. People meeting me are shocked when I say I'm an introvert. "Oh but you're so /social/ and not shy." Yeah, but, that isn't what introvert actually means. The NTJ part of the profile always holds though (particularly the J) but the I or E can vary.

When I saw the title, a quote attributed to Joseph Merrick came to mind. I must be the only one.

Owl. This is cool, because there was a barn owl in our tree last night and I spent about an hour watching it.

Octopus here.
A cat. I'm not sure what the letters stand for - a personality type I'm guessing - but the description fit me to a tee. All they left out was that I would love who ever was feeding me at that time :-)
P.S. Still travelling so hard to participate here. Will do that when I get back home (if that ever happens again :-) !)
Technically I think I'm an octopus, but not wanting the boundaries of the options, I'd like to be a sturgeon. Sturgeon are efficient feeders, long lived, get to live in the ocean and inland, and are sort of neat.
Cat. Seems fitting. I've always said anyway that I would love to come back in a second life as a cat.

Well I never thought of myself as very cat-like but after reading the description I saw that I was. Funny! If I was going to do online dating I'd use that description :-)
I was a INFJ wolf with the quick test, then a ISFJ doe with the longer test that was graded on line. Interesting- feel more like a wolf.
Octopus or when I'm up for it..... a lion.
ENTJ says I'm a Lion. Suits me. :)

INTPs are analytical and thoughtful individuals who prefer to work alone and who are often ill at ease in social situations.
I dont' always prefer to work alone though, little is more rewarding to me than working with people toward something (especially something I/we believe in). My few best moments even at paid work were working together (ie bouncing our ideas off each other!). Unfortunately work is mostly a solitary thing it seems :(. I prefer the social situations introverts do (people I have gotten to know, meaningful, small groups etc.). In less favorable social situations I am sometimes ill at ease.
They are impatient with hierarchies and politics
you don't say ...
and would prefer that leaders prove their worth with merit, rather than with charisma and influence.
of course, but I might settle for basic decency :)
Although they are not particularly social, they do have razor sharp wit (and claws), and are often surprised to learn that people do enjoy their company.
the claws aren't often out (that's misintrepretation if anyone thinks so - I suspect other types sometimes misinterpret us) but yea pretty much
ANM - I like that you put in an explanation of "why" you are an owl. Makes it that much more fun to see how people come up with their animal choices.
From a basic online test I came out as INFJ which sounds fairly accurate (although I haven't read all the other profiles!), so I'm a beautiful wolf :)
