I think this is okay. School starts Monday! Eeek, we will probably get it done but it is going to be tight. There are so many things I am happy with what we are doing, the tone of our team has calmed down so much from last year. However I looked over all the work we need to do and got very directive on some tasks. There is not time for everything to be a group consensus or talked out. That is okay, last year there was so much arguing about everything that we seemed to waste half the year! I actually think going from 2 staff to 4/5 staff is better because some of the personality issues are diffused.

I still do not have my office cleaned out from teachers storing tables and chairs, the truck is picking up these extras today, then my entire storage area needs to be cleaned and moved in there by the end of Monday. The facilities manager promised to help me but this is stressful. I need to get all the details, parent newsletter, permission slips due the first week, getting to know the kids and working with staff on the routine, basic legal paperwork and postings. So I get an agenda with 2 hours of material on it from my supervisor for today. It includes mission and vision, an article we are required to read, discussion on how we feel, etc. My co worker said she was asked by boss how she felt on a scale of 1-10 about a new teaching model our staff is involved in. Um, school has not started so she said 5. Boss asked why, coworker said we haven't done it yet, seems clear to all of the rest of us. Oh dear. I really struggled about saying anything to my supervisor about the agenda, especially when she said we could get done in 1 1/2 hours. But I did end up mentioning in an email about another topic that we had 2 hours on the agenda and as much as I wanted to start on the right foot with good agendas and reading research and going back to our mission and vision I thought we needed to cover some very basic things for our new people. I could be putting my foot in it, but coworker and I have been focused on giving boss a clean slate and working with her productively while being assertive to the needs of our programs (and backing each other up). We will see how this goes.

I realize I may have a Dilbert boss,
