Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't a Republican at the helm for Iraq and Afghanistan? Maybe they are BOTH parties of war? But it does seem to me that in my lifetime Republicans have been at the helm for the bigger ones - though it remains to be seen what happens with Syria, I'll give you that. Rob
In the past the Republican party has been, right or wrong, more closely associated with big business. War is the biggest business of all. Maybe that's where the notion of the Reps as war mongers came from. In this day and age I think we all understand that the Democratic party is at least as far under the covers with industry as anyone. Whether any modern day party could ever have been counted on to work for the people without influence from the corporate side is debatable. Whether any can be counted on for that today is not. They can't. It does present a great marketing opportunity for the GOP (the "P" stands for "pacifist" you know).
