View Full Version : Oh George.......George........George.........(I'm shaking my head).
No, not George W., but George Zimmerman.
I just saw on the news that his wife filed for divorce from him after he was acquitted. She called the police today because she said that he threatened her with a gun.
Gosh........I hope I didn't perceive the Martin/Zimmerman situation incorrectly. :(
Makes you wonder, doesn't it?
George Zimmerman is just like when you never see how many Camrys are on the road until you get a Camry and all of a sudden they're all over the place.
George Zimmerman is the same way--in the media once and forever in the media. He's been under the spotlight about 5 times since the acquittal: for speeding (twice), for helping a family on the road (once), for posing with a big smile in a gun store (once) and now the divorce. However, I think divorce proceedings were imminent before the event. I think she just held off until after the trial.
But, he threatened her with a gun??? You're right--"oh, George!"
What were her words on the 911 call, and her statement to the police, exactly?
Not media accounts, but the actual words.
I know we shouldn't make any deductions based on his behavior after the trial............but it sure makes you wonder if he is a master manipulator.........

He doesn't strike me as clever enough to be that.
Bae.........I haven't read any exact words, but again on the news, it said that he is arrested for, supposedly (according to his wife), threatening his wife and her father with a gun. We'll no doubt hear more of the facts soon.
We've all been led around the garden path by those who love to speculate about this guy. The prosecution didn't have enough evidence to convict him, so end of story there for me. I'm not even remotely curious about how he spends his days now. And the idea that he's manipulating the media to prolong his 15 minutes... Well, I'm with bae, the guy just never seemed that sharp. Then again, keeping yourself out front with a little outrageous behavior doesn't seem to require brilliance. Just ask that Lohan girl.
There's even some speculation that the divorce may be for financial reasons, i.e., if Zimmerman ends up owing Martin's parents money in a civil suit, then his wife's financial ship would also be sunk; however, if they were divorced ...?

Lol! Yup. Run-of-the-mill abuser/bully/narcissist.

Do we even know that he's an "abuser" or "bully"?
Narcissist - clearly so. Though he could just be completely clueless. Maybe both.

His behavior towards his wife sure sounds like abuser behavior to me. Am I an eyewitness? No.

And yet you've judged him.
My wife used to practice family law. I used to do a lot of domestic violence protective work. I'd not judge one of these cases until more facts came out than are typically present in mass media accounts, and I wouldn't rely on only the testimony of one "side" of the dispute, based on my experience.

Yes, I have. More than judged, I have profiled him. I was a DV social worker for nearly two decades.

I don't know, but I love what the police said about him to the LA Times...
“Man, it would be fantastic if you have an apartment out there [in Los Angeles] for George Zimmerman," Bracknell, the police chief, told The Times. “This guy is killing me. We’re just a small-town police department -- this really taxes us."
Not exactly a big fan.
I don't think you are dealing with fabulous people here. Add in domestic issues and all bets are off. But so far
"We did not find a gun, did not locate a weapon," said Zach Hudson, public information officer with the Lake Mary Police Department. "Nobody ever saw a gun. A gun is not part of this story."
Still, a gun was at the crux of the account Shellie Zimmerman provided to 911 dispatchers when calling for help.
...
Hudson told ABC Action News Shellie provided a written statement Monday night saying she never saw a gun and only assumed her estranged husband was carrying a weapon because he touched his stomach.

Who knows, maybe the facts change again tomorrow.

What facts did you rely upon when drawing up your profile?

Indeed.
Some accounts say the police released Zimmerman, and that he has not been charged. And that he offered to provide the police the interior surveillance footage of the home (how creepy is that!?!?) to back up his side of the story, at which point the wife/father-in-law declined to press charges.
Given the history of this fellow's case, I wouldn't give any credence to any accounts of any actions of his until a jury has heard and considered things. Too many people have been "managing" the situation.
