Any opinions or experience in this practice? It sounds kind of wacky but I kind of feel that there may be "something" to it.

A person I knew who was highly developed spiritually, used to go out at night when no one could see him and walk around with no shoes to absorb the ground's energy. Do think there is something to it.....

I thought this was just about getting in touch with the Earth - going barefoot and so on - but I found this website: Earthing (http://www.earthing.com/default.asp) and it looks like there is whole lot more.

Going to read up on this... it sounds a little crazy, but why not.

I usually ground myself by hugging our massive oak tree...nothing like the amazing energy of trees! Yes, people will think you are strange, but you will feel amazing ;)

After an emotional break-down I spent two weeks laying in a field just listening to the grass grow - it deeply impacted me and was very healing and profound. Even 16 years later I can still 'see, smell, hear, feel' it if I close my eyes and think about it. Does that count?

Well, based on the video on the site, I agree with the premise that you feel good when you're barefoot. I LOVE being barefoot, and I love gardening without gloves and all that kind of thing. I didn't know I felt better because of earthing principles. I just thought I liked the feel of the contact with the earth.

However, I will not pay for a product to deliver the earth's energy into my home. For Pete's sake, just kick off your shoes and step outside! I know some people can't do that, but I just don't buy the idea of Earth current in your electric socket.

Trees have gotten me through alot in my life. I like to say I was raised by a grove of trees.
Please, no comments Iris Lilies. ;)
catherine.........I had to laugh when you said you wouldn't pay to have earth's energy delivered into your home. How true for me too!

As a kid I often took walks alone in the woods and meadows on our farm. I would lie down in the meadow and watch the wind blow the grasses across the sky. For hours sometimes. I didn't think about why.

Whether it's a placebo effect or not, if it makes you feel good, do it! And if someone tells you you have to purchase something to take advantage of it, don't.

I believe in it! Not sure about what that link says but there is healing in being out in nature and in walking barefoot. I like to walk on the beach barefoot as often as possible, during the summer we walked most evenings. My favorite is under a full moon! I also love to put my feet in cool grass. :)

I think I agree with the consensus that it really is true but not sure that I'd buy anything to do it.

When I was a kid I hated to wear shoes. I went barefoot all the time. I also loved to climb trees & sit in them and read. I was very healthy as a kid. I don't remember being sick hardly at all.

Sometimes I just get this feeling inside me that I NEED to go sit on a beach somewhere. When I get the chance I could sit there for hours. And I feel so much better afterwards.

So, I have been trying to remember to go outside and sit in the grass often. Probably don't do it often enough. I lay on the ground and look up through the trees & watch the clouds go by & the whirlybirds spinning down to the ground. I think I feel much more relaxed on the days I do so.

I think the neighbor thinks I'm crazy lol But I think he is crazy for sitting out in his truck smoking for long periods of time. :~)

I feel the same way! The great thing is having a dog, so I sit in the grass and hang out with the dog. If the neighbors think I'm a dog nut instead of just a nut, I'm cool with that.

It feels SO GREAT to just lie in the grass.
