Just sounds yummy. Something that would be fun to do with children! Got this recipe from a site on Fcebook:

Apple Pie Egg Rolls Recipe
Ingredients
3 cups apples, peeled and diced (approx. 3 apples)
4 tablespoons sugar
4 teaspoons flour
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon lemon juice
12 Egg Roll Wrappers
Oil for Frying
Instructions
1. Combine all filling ingredients and mix well.
2. Place 2 heaping tablespoons of filling in the center of each wrapper. Fold in the sides and roll the
wrapper tightly. Use a dab of water to secure the tip of the wrapper.
3. Preheat oil to 350 degrees. Fry each egg roll for about 4-5 minutes or until browned and crispy.
4. Sprinkle with powdered sugar and serve warm.

They do sound good, but I wonder if you could bake them rather than fry?

Maybe with a brush of butter or oil. Not sure.

I was wondering the same thing with my husband. Would love to be able to bake these. The rest sounds so easy since you can buy the wonton wrappers in the store. Maybe use pie crust cut into squares instead?

I have nothing in which to fry these, but can buy frozen egg rolls that are cooked in an oven, so it should be possible to bake these. The smaller wonton wrappers could be used, filled and folded over like a turnover and baked, as well.

Jilly........I have the feeling the frozen egg rolls have already been fried, and you just heat/crisp them up in the oven.

Oh, you are probably right. I have not bought them, so I cannot say, but that sounds most likely. Sure would like to find a way to try this recipe, though.

Sometimes you can put a smaller amount of oil in the pan and fry it that way. But I don't know if that is any less "fried" than submersing it in fat.
I wonder how this same recipe would turn out if you used puff pastry instead of the eggroll wrappers and then baked it? But with puff pastry.....you might already be getting
as much fat as frying?

I also think of FILO dough when you mentioned puff pastry Cathy, but that is probably laden with fat...
I guess the only way is to test it, maybe roll them in pinko breadcrumbs brush with a healthy oil and then bake?
