Looks like America will possibly be sending our slaughtered chickens over to China for processing and then it will return for sale. Read this on face book.

Also read that the USDA is considering not having their employees inspect animal processing plants but will have one of the employees from the plant do the inspections. Read this from Facebook also.

I would think that many are concerned about this.....

For real (and really scary): http://www.simplelivingforum.net/showthread.php?8926-USDA-allowing-U-S-chickens-to-be-processed-in-China-and-sent-back

Facebook, for me, remains one of those "trust, then verify" sites. I've seen a whole lot of nonsense posted on Fb. In this case, however, it's absolutely true. And, to me, really bothersome. I already choose not to eat hamburger outside my house except in very special circumstances. If this happens, I'll be adding chicken to the list. :(

Very bad. But this should be very good for my meat bird business.

We seem to be increasingly moving into a 2 tier food system - one where one can pay a premium for quality, locality, safety - or pay a cheaper price by foregoing those. Not that it hasn't always been that way - but it seems like the gap between the two is getting wider.

Yea, I'm pescetarian outside my house for the most part, because of industrial meat and poultry.
