My grandsons did a grandson version of this with the box that held their patio furniture.

It has been painted several times, decorated with some of the tape I gave my youngest baby for his birthday, painted again, dragged back and forth across the street and left out in the rain once.

It is still going strong.

Children just love playing with boxes! I still loved it when I was nine, rolling around in a refrigerator box. You grandson's version sounds more creative. That is amazing that it was out in the rain and still standing!

I think it survived the rain because of the several hundred layers of paint and tape.

The tape is what my grandson wanted for his birthday, so I went to WalMart, found a nice plastic tub and filled it with every kind of tape they sold. Except for duct tape, because my daughter says that it leaves a residue of goo. Well, it does, leave the goo, but it is so cool, and the patterns just make my heart sing. I let him use all the duct tape he likes when he is here, as I am a fan of goo.

Such a great and a creative gift! That is what Grandmothers are for -- to give their Grandchildren and do everything that the parents won't allow them to do...LOL!

Before my first grandson was born, my daughter named me the Naughty Grandma, because she knew that I would always do the same messy stuff that the two of us did when she was growing up.

I am doing my best to live up to that honorific.

That is nice that you played so much with you own children and now it's being carried over to your Grandchildren. The best memories of my life was being with my Grandparents!
