Somehow it's become a habit in my family for us to do push-ups against the kitchen counter (as seen in Phase 1 (http://scoobysworkshop.com/zero-to-100-pushups-for-complete-beginners/) here.)
Whenever we're waiting for the kettle or the microwave, we just start doing some push-ups. They work a lot of different muscles and feel really good. You can adjust the difficulty by getting closer to the counter (easier.)
Afterwards, hold onto the counter and give your spine a nice long stretch.
