Here I am trying to self motivate and drag you all into it! I'm just keeping the same goals as November- over 6000 steps a day and something different once or twice a week in addition to the steps. I only had one day in Nov. below 6000 and 22 were over 6500. I am finding it harder now that it's cold, so I have to plan so that at 9 pm I am not looking to try to get 4000 steps before bed!

What are your goals? Maintain effort, relax ?

Hubby and I are going to our gym at least 5 times a week for an hour class. Took a brutal Body Combat class on Tuesday from the National trainer. Will be a long time till I try that one again. Hubby is doing 8 miles on recumbenent bike once or twice a day in addition to the classes.

We are following Weight Watchers and each have lost 30 pounds in 6 months.

Plan: to continue thruout the entire holiday period.

My main goal is to keep walking. Hoping to walk at least 5 miles a week.

Last winter was pitiful until late winter when I realized I could walk at the mall after work. Duh. lol But I need to keep moving.

I had another duh moment. I love to walk the dog around the lake. Usually I walk to the lake, walk around the lake & walk back for a total of about 2 miles. But it's so cold in the winter. Then I thought - what if I drive out to the lake? Then I can walk around the lake and depending on the cold factor I can walk once or twice around the lake. About 1/3 of the path is through the woods which blocks the worst of the wind.

Saturday I walked to the lake and back. Sunday we drove out to the lake and walked once around. So, about 2 miles for this week.

Today was actually warmer than Sat. or Sun. but the winds were blowing a lot harder so we stayed home.

Way to go sweetana! Keep up the good work.

This winter I am going to be trying out a new program my neighbor told me about called 21 day fix. She said it told me it hasn't been released yet but it should be out soon. Its a program that helps with diet (mostly portion control which I have an issue with especially in the winter) and exercise. A few months back I did the Insanity workout and struggled a little because it was too extreme for me. This program seems to be more at my speed. If anyone is interested, here are more details about the program- http://www.beachbody.com/product/fitness_programs/21-day-fix-simple-fitness-eating.do

Still managing 6000 steps a day at minimum, but having do do a lot of tours around our little house. I might wear the rug out. We have taken some wee walks outdoors and in grocery stores. I'm pleased to be able to get the steps in. Winter is harder. Our nearby town is having a 100 miles challenge for January, sign up to walk or do the equivalent of a mile a day for 100 days. Might do it just for motivation. Azure, Your lake ah ha moment made me laugh. How often that happens to me, and I'm glad to know other people take a while to figure out how to make something more do-able. Good luck everyone. Be kind to yourselves.
