I am getting real tired of oatmeal with berries and nuts so just wondering what you other simple people eat for breakfast?

I've eaten basically the same breakfast for decades.

A piece of fruit, usually a banana.
Yogurt, usually plain.
A starch: oatmeal or a bagel or peanut butter toast or homemade muffins/bread. If I've been to Trader Joe's, I might have some Joe's Os, which are basically Cheerios.

Just a bowl of oatmeal isn't enough to hold me until lunch time.

A bowl of porridge, made the traditional way with steelcut oats, salt and a little milk. No fruits or sugar or honey..

Perhaps a boiled egg and some wholemeal toast.

On weekends, VERY OCCASIONALLY, I enjoy a Scottish fry up!

Oatmeal, fruit, yogurt and tea. After walking the dog, I will have another piece of fruit. Nothing good else seems to hang in.

Most days I drink my breakfast...a protein smoothie with fruit or greens or both. First alternate is home made granola and second alternate is oatmeal.

Eggs (poached, fried, scrambled, omelets), reinforced coffee (egg, MCT oil, protein powder), leftovers...

ETA: Sausage, bacon, ground beef with those eggs.

My breakfast varies, but it's usually some kind of green fruit smoothie with kefir in the summer, and in winter I love a hunk of homemade multigrain toast with either a fried egg or a slathering of almond butter. Both with two cups of really good (half-caff) coffee. All organic all the way in the morning.

Blood orange Chiobani Greek Yoghurt with 1/4 cup of homemade granola. I find it the perfect combo of sweet, tart, chewy and smooth.

Y'all eat so healthy in the morning!

No breakfast for me: it seems my stomach has only limited room, and if I eat in the morning I have no room to eat lunch, our main meal of the day. So I wait for 11ish for that main meal.....

I like to have fruit and a piece of cheese, but for winter I've started up with oatmeal again. Right now I have a freezer full of blueberries, so will start using them.

I always have a banana and coffee--every day.

Now and then midmorning i'll have either a cup of yogurt or a soft-boiled egg and English muffin. I go in spurts of having cold cereal and milk also.

I've always generally had a banana and nuts but I don't know this week I've had oatmeal wtih cream and raisins etc., mostly because my eating was out of control and I was eating everything I could stuff down my throat all day long so I decided I needed something more substantial to avoid raiding vending machines and so on. But I think it's just a bad week really.

Homemade granola, homemade yogurt and homemade jam, multigrain toast with natural peanut butter or maybe butter.

As Ishbel Robertson said above, steel-cut oats are hard to beat. Once in a great while, I will fry up a pan o apple wood smoked bacon, to cram between two slabs o bread.

I'm usually not hungry in the mornings, but I have to eat because DH eats by the clock, and if I eat "off schedule" then we don't eat together and someone is always eating and making dirty dishes. SIGH. Usually I have leftover chopped up veggies, and maybe some leftover chopped up potatoes if we have any, plus some walnut bits, some hemp seeds, some leftover meat if there is any, gelled chia seeds, spinach bits, kelp granules, and maple syrup and/or coconut nectar. Sounds like a lot, but it's just a little bit of each of those things. And orange juice. As you can imagine, eating out when we travel can be challenging.

Scrambled or fried eggs. Seasonally, with kale, brown rice, potatoes, tomatoes, garlic, roasted veggies like squash & beets. I love a savory breakfast.

I eat on the run (sometimes literally :-)!) so it's usually something like a whole grain bagel topped with peanut butter and banana and a coffee. I take it with me on my morning runs and eat/drink while I walk to warm up. I also may have a (pre-made the night before) fruit and vegan (i.e. non dairy) yogurt cup with granola. Again, a food I can hold in my hand while walking and eat.

Pretty much a fruit thing and a bread thing.

As a rule, I rarely eat anything before 2 or 3 pm. I have found that this schedule agrees with my constitution much better than eating earlier in the day. That having been said, I used to eat breakfast once in a while, but rarely "breakfast food". I especially like cold pizza. I have, in the past eaten steel cut oats, but I found that it did not agree with me *at all* and I did not enjoy spending the better part of the morning in the bathroom. I have never, ever in my life eaten breakfast cereal from a box. In fact I recall the first time I ever experienced breakfast cereal was at Girl Scout camp when I was 12. I didn't particularly care for it. I will sometimes eat breakfast cereal when I am at someone's house (more out of courtesy than anything). It really does nothing for me.

soup. Every morning. It keeps me going.

These protein bomb, veggie/fiber intensive smoothies that DW makes. Somewhat seasonal, but always kale, fruit, protein powder, Greek yogurt and almond milk. That, and with any luck there is leftover pizza that I can have when DW leaves.

Eggs scrambled with clarified butter and a big pile of spinach sauteed in the butter. Coffee. Protein and fat to keep me going all morning. If I eat a carb heavy breakfast I am starving by nine thirty.

I love dinner left-overs for breakfast.

An apple or orange, some plain yogurt, a banana and decaf tea. Everyday. Sometimes on weekend, will eat oatmeal or millet.

I usually start my day with coffee, bread and whatever spread is available on our fridge. If there's left-over rice from dinner we do garlic rice and eat it with salted dried fish and tomatoes.

I had GF fruitcake and a mocha eggnog this morning.

Typically only tea or coffee. But oat meal, cheese toast, poached egg and toast tend to top the list.

The usual is coffee plus toast with sunflower butter. And occasionally a banana or pineapple.

But what I love for breakfast is leftover pizza (nice to see I'm not the only one). But pizza the night before and the morning after is a little too much these days.

Me, too!! I'm a big leftover pizza breakfast eater--cold of course.

I like left-over pizza or left-over pie. Oatmeal is my first choice - with pecan and cranberry. I've been making a do ahead and bake oatmeal that is really good too. My husband has a big bowl of veggies with cranberries and almonds every morning.

I love breakfast foods for dinner, most Saturdays I'll make a big brunch and then the evening meal is just little munchies.

Usually coffee and a granola bar or peanut butter on toast.
Sometimes oatmeal with some fruit or a hard boiled egg.
Once in awhile I have leftovers, but that is usually for dinner again.
I only eat twice a day.

I am on a huge bacon, egg, tomato and cream cheese bagel sandwich kick this pregnancy. I eat much less for lunch, but I like my breakfast.

Usually: vegetables. I cook them, separately, in advance and put them in glass containers in the fridge. I choose a mix for the day, heat it, and top with 1/2 avocado.

Sometimes I have dinner leftovers... stir-fry, soup, chili, etc.

Veggies, including something good for calcium, and sheep yogurt (with stevia and vanilla) for stomach help.

When I eat a "traditional" breakfast, its usually oatmeal with a chopped up apple or berries or raisins and some walnuts with almond milk...or a veggie egg scramble.

For "non-traditional breakfast" I'll eat most anything...leftover nut loaf, lentil salad, you name it. And yes, cold pizza is fine though I like it re-heated a bit in the oven.

Oh, and I almost forget...a special breakfast treat is a flax/whole grain wrap with cream cheese, sliced tomato, smoked salmon and a few capers. Salmon is so pricey-- this is a rare, maybe once a month special.

I usually have scrambled eggs, a bran muffin, & a piece of fruit. Sometimes I have oatmeal & berries. Must have breakfast!! Both my husband and daughter will eat cold leftover pizza for breakfast--it is beyond my comprehension...

I sometimes eat my oatmeal savory. With garlic, and pepper. I sometimes mix in an egg or some shredded cheese. This gives it a very different flavor. A friend at work introduced me to this.
