Last game at Candlestick

Last night they played the final game at Candlestick - where I saw my first baseball game, and sat outside in the parking lot listening to the Beatles last concert.

I can see the 'Stick from my bedroom window - they had amazing fireworks last night.

It's an ugly old place and I won't be exactly sorry to see it go - but, it's another piece of history. I guess they'll build high rise apartments there.

I only saw one baseball game in Candlestick many long years ago. Hearing the Niners talking about Candlestick was a revelation -- wet wet wet and not the funnest place to play, apparently. I'll be sorry to see it go -- but then, I was sorry to see Kezar go. Excited to see the Niners move on in the post-season! Yay NINERS forever (since '58, for me) ...
