Very cool although I wonder if it work as well if his finger was as swollen as the photo they show when you open the link? I've always had jobs where I couldn't wear any jewelry - including rings - but I could see even a small injury on a finger with a ring on it could be very painful and even cause you to lose the finger or hand!

Many, many years ago, dh crushed his fingers at work and his wedding band needed to be cut off. He has never worn a ring of any sort again. I am not sure if this ring-rescue would have worked for him...there was tissue damage, but no broken bone - but by the time one is seen in the ER lots of swelling has taken place.
