View Full Version : Food grade silicone caulk?

I want to use some of my older ceramic canisters for sugar and flour. I've used rubbermaid for a long time, but I'd like to use the canisters now.
But the lids don't have a good seal and I don't want bugs/moths in it. I'm thinking of using a small bead of caulk around the inside edge, but I want it to be safe too.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

DAP makes one that is food safe and can be used in aquariums.

I just called my favorite hardware store, and they have it for $6.99 a tube, just like the one on the DAP site.

I imagine that less expensive stores, like Walmart, should have it as well. Probably not the dollar stores, though.

Let us know how that works with the ceramic canisters. It is a great idea.
