I was needing some eyeglass cleaner and thought that there should be a simple recipe. I was using simple handsoap in my hand, splashing some water on the lenses, cleaning lenses and drying with soft cloth.
This recipe is more convenient and not costly plus there are other hints as well.

A very common online recipe is to half-fill a small spray bottle with rubbing alcohol, fill with water and a small drop of Bronners soap or liquid dish detergent, mix gently and spray. Dry with soft cloth.

I had made a simple Bronners soap and water recipe before but used too much soap and the results were poor.

I just wanted to mention that if you have anti-reflective coating, you should rinse off the lenses first before rubbing them at all. It really helps to keep scratches down.

Thanks for sharing - I just don't clean my glasses as often as I should. Maybe this will motivate me to GET UP AND DO IT!!!

While I'm showering, I soak my glasses in warm water and a couple drops of dish soap. Rinse and dry with soft cloth. Crystal-clear glasses and clean frames too

When I recently bought new eyeglasses, they told me to clean with a little dish soap (or liquid hand soap that is not the "lotion" kind) and -- this is the key -- "pat" the glasses dry, don't wipe, to avoid scratches. Also, never just wipe them off dry without washing.

So, I've been doing this and just using a bit of the whatever dish or hand soap I have around is working fine for me.
