Here we can post “ news” that media sources have decided are worthy of 1 to 3 days worth of discussion.

Should Kanye be denied entry to the UK for performances? he is, to those who pay attention to the rap world, the most important rap artist of today and possibly of all time. I can’t comment on that.
I can only comment on antisemitism in the UK and believe me, Ye is the least of their problems. no I don’t think they should ban him perfect performing. I think they should be banning the huge influx of Islamists who entered their country.

Are we not gonna talk about Kristi Noem’s husband’s strange fetish of bimboification? Bryon Noem has been showed in photographs with giant inflated fake boobs and tight peak pants and engaging in fetish talk online Are we kind and caring woke people who do not kink shame but instead celebrate fetishes as natural deviations in human behavior?

ok, I will start: The strange world of Byron Noem is interesting, that’s for sure. Immediately put me in mind of the Canadian shop teacher who swanned around in giant fake boobs, claiming it was his new identity. With the nipples popping out on his triple n fake breasts, parading his obvious fetish to youth in a public school. is this something we now have to tolerate?

I watched a video of a very reasonable, rational and calm mother addressing a school board about one presenter on their school’s “career day.” The presenter was a drag queen. The presenter put on a little drag show showing his panties as he performed on top of a table. This reasonable, rational, and probably Democratic voting parent asked the reasonable and rational question: why? What purpose did this serve that supported the stated goals of the organization? Was the intent truly to teach students that being a drag performer is a career choice of note?

This is not a joke, although it is making the snark rounds of social media. While the average Canadian may not know what this acronym means, you’d better know what it means if you’re going to work in Canadian government.

For those folks dying to know, like me, what in God’s name this could possibly mean, here is what this official government acronym stands for:

Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two‑Spirit (a term that is used by some First Nations to describe people who embody both masculine and feminine spirits), Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, and Asexual people.

https://www.newsweek.com/mmiwg2slgbt...ained-11806539

From the Newsweek article:

. ..The full acronym has been used for years in government, advocacy, and community contexts to emphasize intersectionality. It is intentionally lengthy in order to name everyone who has historically been left out of national conversations about violence, justice, and safety…

Wall Street Journal says more households move into upper middle class

I suppose this article from the Wall Street Journal is bad news for Bernie bros and the doomsayers of the progressive Democratic Party so I imagine it will be ignored because it’s inconvenient. But it also supports the idea that there is a “shrinking middle class “so that falsehood could be promoted even though this article shows the middle class is shrinking because more households are moving into upper middle class territory,.

This is one view of economic prosperity in the United States, and it has some good information.

https://www.wsj.com/economy/more-ame...m_medium=email

excerpts, bolding mine:

…The gains [in income] span generations. Many baby boomers, born to parents who grew up in the Great Depression, are living well on their savings, aided by steady Social Security checks and decades of stock-portfolio gains that they can now tap. Millennials, who everyone worried would be permanently set back by the 2008-09 financial crisis, are earning solid incomes, buying homes and surpassing their parents.
Many families are surprised to find that they have moved into this new economic tier, and see themselves as comfortable, not rich. They tend to have jobs that are white collar but not flashy—think accountants, not tech founders.
This doesn’t mean that all Americans are climbing the ladder. Entrenched inflation and higher prices on major necessities have pushed many families closer to the financial edge, or locked them out of homeownership. Those costs weigh on high-earning families too, and for many are the reason they don’t feel wealthy.
The AEI report divided families into five different groups by income. Three groups were in the middle: lower middle class, core middle class and upper middle class.
The authors found that more families now fall into the two highest-earning groups—upper middle class and rich—and fewer fall into the three lower-earning categories.
In 2024, about 19% of American families were considered “poor or near poor,” according to the AEI report, down from about 30% in 1979. The report defined that group as a family of three earning about $40,000 or less in 2024 dollars.

The Straights of Hormuz. Oh dear God,PLEASE tell me this girl is part of the bit. She’s just playing along, right?

It is funny as a bit and simultaneously horrifying if she’s not in on the joke. It’s horrifying because she votes.

edited to add: I’m sorry if those of you without an Instagram account can’t see this. I didn’t think of that. It’s a video clip of a man interviewing a woman during a No Kings protest in the United States. He asked her about the prejudicial nature of our country’s concern with the “Straights of Hormuz” when we show absolutely no regard for the gays of Hormuz.

She responds in agreement that it is wrong and this is part of ongoing discrimination against gays. Isnt it awful! He says, and she agrees with the interviewer that they could bring the gays from Hormuz and set up another Fire Island.

she appears to me to be sincerely participating in this “man on the street” interview while clearly the interviewer is setting her up for a comedy bit.
