Just found this yesterday - there is a group of monks walking from Texas to Washington D.C. There is a lot of stuff on the internet about them. Here's an article with what I thought was a decent explanation of what they are doing, where they are going, etc.:

Do those escorts follow them the entire route? I wouldn't think that would be very peaceful.
