Can wine for cooking be frozen?

I love using wine to flavor soups, stews, and other dishes. But I only need a half cup or so at a time and I don't drink wine. And I don't want to buy a bottle of wine (no picnic size bottles sold in my area) and have most of it go bad.

Can wine be frozen and then thawed and used in cooking? I am looking for flavor only.

Yes, works fine. It'll be a bit soft.

Any wine left from a bottle in my house is frozen in ice cube trays which are then available to enrich stews, sauces etc. the wine looks a little 'grainy' when frozen, but tastes ok.

We keep wine for cooking on the pantry. Its never gone bad.

Wine has a lot of alcohol in it. But it will change its flavor over time, especially in a warmer location (like a pantry or, worse, a cabinet over the stove). After all, that's how wine vinegar is made.
