I couldn't see the picture either. :(
How about now?

Yes, me too. I’ve never seen one like it. Good job!
My new refrigerator arrived today and after all that talk about ice makers , etc the one I ordered doesn’t have one:)).
So my son found a frugal solution to turning my bathtub into a walk in shower. You can remove the tub and replace it with a piece that’s a shower bottom with a seat. It fits in the same spot and I can keep the tile around the bathtub which is fine. Then you buy a shower door. He can probably do it for between 1-1.5k. Much better than spending 10k for a tile walk in where they have to move plumbing.
Now I see the picture... beautiful and functional! I really like that. Great job, Alan.
Now I see it Alan, thanks....genius!!
This is great! We have a bathtub sized ( retangular)shower in Old-house Hermann and are replicating that size in the new bathroom. I do wonder if the lip of the shower that is about 3 inches tall is really tall enough to keep water from overflowing. so far it has not been problem in the three years we used it, but I never really had a floor I had to worry about.
We are putting a bathtub in the upstairs bathroom because there’s that old saw that one must have a bathtub for children and dogs.
No kids allowed to live at my condo or big dogs:)). I bathe the dogs in the kitchen sink. My son just said he thinks I should pay to have it installed since they are less likely to break the tile and can carry away the old stuff. I will get estimates for that.
Mom lives in a senior only apartment building. They gave her the option of a cutout in the bathtub to make it into a shower. Works great. Somehow they cut a hole in the side and filled it so it looks original. Then they take out the stopper so the tub cannot be filled. So much safer for her. Building is over 40 years old and the tub is original.
So moving day was yesterday. I unpacked yesterday until almost midnight and then today and am done. Still need to hang curtain rods, towel bars, chandeliers, pictures, etc. My son is a huge help and will do that stuff. He had trouble getting our internet and tv working. I bought a chandelier and 2 lamps with individual crystals so that will take awhile to put together. It’s a quiet place and the dogs are adjusting well. I have a nice view of the courtyard and most units can’t see my balcony. I only have a neighbor on one side.
I have 3 closets and gave my son half of one. Everything fits with no issues. My entrance closet is huge and deep. Half is coats, cleaning supplies, etc and the other half is shelves for food. I put a shelving unit in there as I took out all the upper cabinets. The built in hutch in the dining room really helps. Pigeons sat on my balcony light and pooped while the unit was empty. It’s hard like cement. Ugh! I installed pigeon spikes on the light. Will also put on the railing.
My couch that was expensive and only 2 years old wouldn’t come up the stairs. The halls and lobby only have 7 ft ceilings so that’s a problem. Only people on the first floor get couches in. Everyone else gets a loveseat or sectional. I had to pay the movers to take it back to the house. Ugh! The buyers were happy to get it. I am exhausted but happy to have it behind me.
Sorry about the couch but so glad the new owners can use it. Can't wait to see pictures.
Enjoy your new sanctuary and home, TT. Everything will find its right place in the space. Glad to hear that the little 4-legged occupants are settling in.
Sigh of relief for getting closure to the last stage! Onwards for enjoying your new, simple space.
CONGRATS TT!!!!!
Congrats, TT! Welcome home!!!!
I slept 12 hours last night. My son said he was beginning to wonder if I was dead:)).
Your dogs would have been wondering as well no doubt.
I got up after 6 hours to potty all of us and then back to bed for another 6 hours.
It must feel good to be settled into your new home, so happy for you!
Sigh. The satisfaction of a job well done.
Now you're home and the next chapter starts.

Definitely opens up the space. Looks good. The dining light fixture is neat.
Thanks Razz. I also bought a table lamp with crystals and a pole lamp for my bedroom with them. They all give off a ton of light.
the openness without the top cabinets is really, really nice!
Yes! No upper cabinets, good job TT. I likee.
When my bed and crystal knobs come for my bedroom and it’s all set up I will post a picture. There’s a big closet when you first walk in for coats, and I only have 2. I put shelves in and keep food, paper products, etc in there.
Conversely, we have the World’s Smallest Coat Closet in Hermann. It is funny, it is so tiny.
TT I fully approved of crystals everywhere! Very Glam!
I drove around today with DH choosing materials for our
Hermann house. NOT glam.
We visited 3 different Lowes stores, quite an UGH day.
IL, I am getting fancy in my old age:)). My taste has changed a lot. My son loves the chandelier and lamp. My 2 coats would fit in your closet. The condo has 3 closets but they are big.
One is a winter coat and one a spring or fall coat. I don’t wear either very often. It’s almost always sunny here so once you get in your car you are warm. I usually wear a sweater with a scarf to keep my neck warm. It rarely rains.
Gosh, that sounds really nice!
Hmmm, I should count my coats. There are a lot more than two!
