Ouch, Tybee. That stinks.
Sorry, Tybee!!! If Congress finally gets its butt in gear, will they reinstate the class?
Sorry, Tybee. We can only hope things turn around.
Thank you!
Catherine, I doubt it will happen fast enough because the class is supposed to start on Monday and I just found out about it. They said some classes could possibly reopen next week, but I've already put several hours of work on it that would have to be redone, since they would give me a new shell, and they have also given us a pay cut of about 25%, so I'm hoping that doesn't come up, since the whole thing has an insult added to injury quality due to the pay cut.
I have definitely been acting like the frog in the pan of boiling water, my bad.
Thinking of everyone here who is going through all the various manifestations of life's trials and tribulations. The only way through is through...please remember to take care of your daily bodily needs (decent food/rest/sleep). This too shall pass, eventually...
Agreed with SQ!
People who go to extreme lengths with the times you’re “allowed” to contact them. I have multiple friends who’ve posted on social media that you can only call/text them between 8am-8pm. That includes messages on FB Messenger, etc. Apparently I’m not the only one that switched to email. They got peeved about that and told us we’re not even allowed to email them outside of those hours. Just to be contrary, I’ve actually started sending them cards in the mail. One called me upset she hadn’t heard from me otherwise. She’s retired. I get home at 6. By the time I eat and do stuff around my place, it’s 8. Whenever I call/text on the weekends, I don’t get a response. I told her she needs to learn how to tweak her phone notification settings rather than putting limits on when people can contact her.
An update to my rant in the post above. I was at a church women’s group meeting today and one of the women who is demanding people only contact her between 8am-8pm (this includes phone calls, texts, emails, and any other type of online communication/app), started yelling at the group coordinator who had sent out an email to the entire group at 8:30 pm one evening this week. The coordinator yelled back, which was delightful to see. She told the objector to either take her email off her phone or to adjust her notifications.
Demanding people can only email you during certain times is ridiculous.
I agree. The onus is on the recipient to do what the coordinator suggested, not on the sender to consider the demands of everyone she is emailing. It's a different world in business these days. No more waiting until you go into the office and see what memos have dropped into your inbox.
Catherine, I am so sorry to hear of the health issues in your family. On X (formerly Twitter), there is a doctor (oncologist) named William Makis who has had a lot of luck treating cancer patients with Ivermectin, Fenbendazole and Menbendazole. He has a paid Substack but his Twitter account is free. Another doctor has a free Substack that I have also found helpful:
Dr. William Makis MD ( McGill Medicine)

I hope this information proves useful to your family and I will pray for you.

Was going to do the Christmas lights outside today but out of eight strands of lights, only one worked. All were bought last year and worked when they were put away on Jan 1st so no clue why they suddenly don't work now.
I just bought two pairs of Smart Wool socks for the winter. Wore one pair and went to wear the second pair the next day. One sock was missing. Bought another pair. I’m sure the other one will show up, hidden in pants or a shirt from the washer. I shook everything out and couldn’t find it.
My socks usually go missing between the washer and dryer. There is just enough space there for stuff to fall in and I forget to look. LOL.
I'm so sorry, Tradd! LOL. I hope you find it soon.
I never seem to have missing socks. If one doesn't show up, it usually comes through the next time I do laundry. I suspect socks miss the laundry basket and end up on the floor of someone's closet and put into the hamper then. The Christmas lights saga got worse though. Went out and bought 8 more strands of lights. All worked when I was putting them up outside. I unplugged them until it got dark. They all worked when I plugged them back in later that day. Couple hours later, the first strand stopped working. Got another strand to replace it and it went out shortly after putting it up. Electrician son checked the outlet and everything seemed fine. I ended up taking the lights off the garage that wasn't working and all the ones on the house did so only the house/porch are lit up this year.
Is anyone on the other side trying to get your attention? The first year and a half after Dad died, the lights would flicker on and off. A lot.
Only person I know who died last year was my father in law and I doubt he is trying to get my attention as he never acknowledged my existence the 27 years before when he was alive. Every year I have issues with the outside lights but this year is the worst. Normally strands start dying mid-month, not right off the bat except when I first start pulling them out to use them.
Nah, he's apparently too busy messing with his wife and daughter. Both swear he comes to their bedrooms when they are sleeping and touches them. I think I've found the sweet spot with the lights as they were all still on when I woke up today!! I am going to get a bunch of LED lights when they go on clearance for next year as they don't use as much power and they tend to last a lot longer.
Oh, man, that is a dark spirit.
My dad hung around smoking his pipe in the living room and making the plants grow extremely large and blooming for months at a time.
I'm so sorry, I misinterpreted your post! I am glad he is reaching out, and I apologize what what I said.
Found my lost sock! It was hiding inside of a shirt and fell out when I shook it this morning! LOL
I'm sure this is an old lady rant, but have car headlights gotten brighter? Or are people keeping their brights on? Or do DH and I have cataracts? What's the deal? We hate driving at night now... the oncoming traffic seems so much brighter than it used to be. Some cars are fine but others are like prison yard lighting.
