No, not at all. I can't speak for the entire state but in the Greater Cincinnati area where I live there were something just short of 7000 illegal aliens detained by ICE in the past year. I suspect the other major metropolitan areas had similar numbers.

I think what confuses people is that they believe ICE only operates in states such as Minnesota and California because that's the only places their favorite narrative builders tell them about. If states like Minnesota and cities such as Minneapolis didn't spend so much time and effort actively defying ICE's role in immigration enforcement you probably wouldn't hear about them either.

from the Statehouse News Bureau: Gov. Mike DeWine said Friday it is unwise and a “mistake” for the federal government to take legal status away from hundreds of thousands of Haitians living in the U.S., including Ohio.

While I'm not a big supporter of DeWine, he seems, in general, to be a moral, ethical, and conscientious man. Except for that whole First Energy thing. I think it's ridiculous that people are in this country legally, abiding by the rules handed out to them to allow them to stay here, and then suddenly, they are illegal, due to a flip of the calendar page and movement of the clock. Sure they knew that protected status had an end date. It was hoped that Haiti would be a safer place to live at that point, and of course that is not at all the reality. Personally, I thought that the US government would talk to the areas hosting the most of the (in this case) Haitians, see how the people are working and living in said communities, have discussions about how the areas (citizens and immigrants) would be impacted, maybe put in a path to citizenship (hahahaha) and re-set the protected status date. I think most people would agree this is a good way forward. This is not, of course, happening. I hope the Feds don't come here. They have lost all moral and ethical credibility.

The next question is … How many US citizens or legals have been detained by ICE in Ohio?

And how many bystanders will be terrorized, like the family trying to drive their kid home from a basketball game where they gassed the car and the baby stopped breathing.

Actually, it's probably optics, they might go in an act entirely different, so they can say, see, nothing illegal to see here. Don't believe what you hear out of Minneapolis and Maine.

I'm not aware of any although I really don't know. It's entirely possible that a few have been detained or cited for interfering in a law enforcement operation or something similar. I know it happens fairly frequently in law enforcement operations having nothing to do with ICE or immigration enforcement so there's probably a little bit happening in those situations as well.

trump also is trying to sue the government for $10 billion for his tax records being leaked. he obviously is trying to abscond as much from the people of this country as he can get away with… a total grifter!

His list of travesties just today in the news is hard to keep up with.

Unless your voting location is very far or inconvenient, I don’t understand why more don’t do early voting. In my experiences in two states, it is not crowded and much easier. You know your ballot was received because you put it in the box directly at the election site.
