Marzipan.
The at home workout went much better than I thought. Was nice to not have to deal with traffic after work and an hours drive to gym. Did 11 miles on my underdesk cycle (in front of TV) in 31 minutes. Also did weight work. Will you resistance on wee bike as I call it next week.
When I was a kid, I was always attracted to the pretty marzipan creations in the candy store display case, but my mother would tell me they didn't taste good. When I was old enough to test this for myself, I learned that it just meant Mom didn't like marzipan (this turned out to be true of some other things as well). I like marzipan, although I do prefer chocolate.
The good stuff comes from Germany, and is hard to find except in specialty stores (I get mine from a German deli that imports German goods). My favorite is in a loaf shape and covered with dark chocolate. Those fake fruits made from marzipan are horrid.Quote:
Maybe I’ve never had good marzipan
No stollen for Christmas this year--not a rave, a rant, but sort of marzipan-related.
Not liking fact that I did not encounter single Lebkuchen or stollen this year. And no Swedish pancake mix or lingonberries at the local grocery. Not cool, Maine.
Trader Joe's didn't have them here in Massachusetts either. :(Quote:

Recently I've been overcome with appreciation for the good people of this world. People I see on TV making the world a better place, simple acts of kindness, news stories about people using their skills and talents and sheer will to do really good things.
And people who give good customer service, like the guy I talked to today from the Social Security Administration, make me happy because interactions like the really pleasant one I had with him show me that there are so many people out there doing ordinary things who are just.. good.
