Dinner alarm?
The loud beepy thing on the wall that can smell when the food is done to just the right amount of crispness. Someone once told me that it’s also good at waking people up if the house catches fire overnight but since the house has never caught fire overnight I don’t know if that is really the case.Quote:

We're getting several inches of snow today, so I'm soaking some navy beans all day while I'm at work. I'll put them in the pressure cooker along with some leftover ham bits for ham & bean soup. While its cooking, I'll throw together some cornbread.
Split pea soup and home made bread. Cooking split pea warms the kitchen on a cold day and I can freeze some for later. The bread was a test recipe using some oatmeal and corn meal, plus flour. Probably not a repeat, but better than store bought.
I made a kale and farro salad. DH is making a lentil, onion, rice dish to go with it.

Tonight is going to be chicken enchiladas with the leftover chicken from Tuesday. Hopefully I can avoid setting off the dinner alarm!
