Watched the K drama Wok of Love, a chef in a fancy restaurant loses his job and fiancee on the same day, he vows revenge and decides to take over the just closed Chinese restaurant across the street. The restaurant a cover for a gangster trying to go legit, decides give the chef the restaurant provided he hires the gangster's associated. A Chaebol (South Korean elite) looks for a job since her father was arrested and assets frozen during her wedding and now she and her mom have been abandoned by their friends. She gets work at the restaurant and is joined by her mother, and their housekeeper, and driver.
It should be an interesting mix of slice of life, legal drama, and comedy, but it falls flat. The Chaebol princess is pretty much 30, and everyone treats her like she's a misbehaving child. Since it's a romantic K drama, good is rewarded, evil punished, the main couple have a happy ever after. Husband told me the ending I tapped out at episode 17 of 19.
