Sioux- thanks for the update and glad you’re doing OK. Congrats on the weight loss.
That's a fabulous update, Sioux! Congrats all around.
Took 3 weeks off work over Christmas and it only took me 2 days to get myself caught back up. Someone was "helping out" while I was out but instead of doing everything, she'd do a couple things and leave the rest for me.
A very kind neighbor was shoveling off walkways and did my car (surrounded by drifts up to my knees) when I asked and wouldn’t take anything. Got the 8” of snow off the top of the Scuba Sherpa that I couldn’t reach, too. The snow removal company isn’t the best so neighbor was doing all the walkways to the buildings on our end of complex.
Nice neighbors are a treasure!
That's awesome, Tradd!! Good neighbors are worth their weight in gold. I was worried about the weather--we actually have no wood for our wood stove because of reliance on the heat pump--so I asked DH, should we run to the store and buy wood in case we have a power outage (wood at the convenience store is expensive at $6-7/small bundle). And he said, "No. We have Bert's in an emergency" (our next-door neighbor who has spent the last few weeks building a woodshed for his 4 cords)... In NJ we rarely interacted with our neighbors, despite living there for 35 years. It's so nice to have neighbors that care and are willing to help you out.
we had a little light, dusting of snow, overnight, and one of our neighbors, who is about 10 years younger than we are came by with a snowblower to blow snow out of our driveway.I guess we are now officially those old people for whom people do things.
It wasn’t all that long ago that we were the people who shoveled the walks for the old people.
