Congratulations and Best Wishes, SiouzQ!!
I remember when you were trying to decide whether to make the move, and look how it turned out! Would make a boffo rom-com. :)
A neighbor brought over a bag with the best cinnamon rolls ever hot from the oven. She said this was the recipe. I am going to try to make them myself. https://www.kingarthurbaking.com/rec...go=EC201229_R1
A red-breasted nuthatch took a peanut from my hand today! I'm all blissed out. :)
That is neat to experience, lucky you!
My rave experience today was using my electric snow thrower to move the 4" of fluffy snow that fell early this morning. I have a snow blower that requires gas and is heavy and awkward by comparison. The snow thrower is like using an electric mower - light, easy and quick. I bought it last year and found that the heavy wet or icy snow won't go through the single stage thrower so had to use the two-stage blower to my frustration and disappointment, thinking I had made a poor decision despite the excellent sale price. Today I know that it was worth it.
Razz: Good news - having appropriate equipment for different types of snow; Bad news - needing said equipment :)
My amazing DH fixed/replaced the light on the kitchen ceiling fan from parts he had in the garage!!! He does this all the time. It amazes me every time. Recently he also took apart the microwave and tightened all screws (?) and it now works fine.
I am jumping for joy!
Our architect-neighbor just knocked on my door to tell me our contractor will start work on our Hermann house in about four weeks. Yay yay yay!it’s also sweet that I have in my head preferred materials for cabinets and countertops because I’ve been keeping this Hermann project in the back of my mind while I choose materials for my condo.
My plan is to tell DH which cabinet material to use, which countertop material to use, and backsplash tile. Oh and stove! And then walk away. DH can do the rest of the work with the contractors because I just don’t care. DH does a nice job planning kitchen cabinetry anyway he’s quite experienced at it.
Congrats! That's so exciting, IL!!
I'm pleased that it's all coming together for you, IrisLily.
Looking forward to seeing the changes as they progress if that is possible, IL.
My first rave for today is that my handheld Black and Decker vacuum arrived yesterday and it is exactly what I have wanted for a number of years, well, decades in reality. I kept talking myself out of buying one figuring I could just hand dust and make an extra effort with the larger vacuum. The little guy is so much easier to use with lithium battery power so no cords; it reaches into nooks and crannies better than me getting down on my hands and knees to hand dust.
My second rave is the bathroom shower head with the magnetic link. I bathed my little beagle this morning using it and he stood still just enjoying the warm water spraying over him instead of my scooping bath water to rinse off the shampoo.
Neither was terribly expensive but so worth every penny for my convenience and comfort.
That’s great IL! I fired my realtor that was supposed to be helping me find a condo for the past 3 weeks and doing nothing. Found a new one on a recommendation yesterday and he has 5 lined up that I picked from the ones he sent to see on Thursday. The one that’s my favorite is the most expensive but it’s on the 11th floor downtown with 2 balconies. It has a view of the mountains and the lights at night. My kids and friends say to stop settling and for once get what I want. I will if I love it once I see it. The pictures are beautiful!

These are my 2 favorites both in the same building. The association fee pays all utilities including cable.
Those are lovely. It will be fun to see which unit you choose once you check out the options available that meet your needs and wants.
After only 3 days since resubmitting my divorce it’s final:)). Wow that’s fast!
I am seeing 3 others that are cheaper. One needs complete remodeling. It would be nice to skip that for once.
The rave: my Real ID license arrives in today's mail. I applied for it at the end of November (stood outside the DMV office for an hour and a half) and it finally is here. Now to make sure they didn't make any typos....
Razz: Isn't it great when small things have a positive impact for comfort and convenience?
Terry: I like the more expensive one too (of course). Good luck with your choice!
It’s not super hard IL.
I love the more expensive one, too. It is totally cool. And that is a big space differential. The layout looks fabulous.
And I lived in a building with a rooftop pool once--heaven.
My non-RealID DL expires in March. I was happy to get a letter telling me I was eligible to renew online a couple of weeks ago, and so I renewed online. Had my license in probably 10 days. Glad to get that out of the way. I wasn't looking forward to standing in line outside in the summer (DL expirations have been extended to June here).
I have a passport/passport card, so I don't need RealID.
Catherine, the nicer condo has 61 more feet because it’s a corner unit. So you get a bigger bedroom, bathroom and a linen closet.
I have only lived in one place that was move in ready. It would be great not to have to remodel.
My rave for the year.... Thank God we are rid of the dictator-wanna-be. Hopefully, we can resurrect relationships with family and our allies!
