Ughh... I know how cramped and nasty those big, crowded metal air-tubes can be in the best of circumstances, never mind post-surgery. (My sorriest tale is of occupying one of the two economy bathrooms for 5 hours in a United transcontinental flight from SFO to Newark, NJ due to a severe gastrointesintal reaction to eating shellfish at the Embarcadero.).
But, I am glad you are home and on the mend. I hope your PT goes well!
DH took a young couple and a minister out on his boat yesterday so they could be married on the lake. Even though he's now "in business" and he didn't know them before the event, he did it for them for free.. I don't think they have much money--in return they gave him a $20 gift card to a local pizza place. When I saw the note they gave him, I teared up--not sure why. Maybe because it is these small occasions that make me realize how much we belong up here, and how DH has the opportunity to give to the community in a way he never has before.

I hope they gave him the pot on land. Pot can cause issues with law enforcement.
That's a nice note! I have a small collection of special thank you's that I have as keep sakes. They mean something when they are so personal and heart felt.

Got a text a few hours later saying they hit a snag and were heading home. I was thrilled!! Turns out the girlfriend forgot to mention they were both 20 and the hotel wouldn't rent rooms to people under 21. No hotel would rent a room to two 20 year olds so they had to drive back home.
I was happy I could sleep last night knowing my kid was safe and not getting mugged or worse. I told him all was not lost as they could still go up during the day to visit the aquarium or walk around the harbor but it seems the experience tainted the whole idea of going up there. Baltimore is a daytime only place (and even then it's not completely safe) but even Baltimore residents know not to be out at night in most areas.
Klunick, as a parent - I TOTALLY understand what you are saying.
That said, I do have some issues with the various "age restrictions" on some of the things within our society. For example, as 20 years olds, both of them could enlisted into the military - WITHOUT parental permission! and learn and carry weapons and die for their country! Yet they can't get a hotel room because they are under 21.
Again, I totally understand where you are coming from. Hopefully, they will find somewhere else to go for a visit.
