I am astonished that you put Lars on this list! What a great idea! I expected titles like NOrma Rae to be there, but Lars and the Real Girl!!!!!!!? That is a great film, it's on my top 20 list. Wait--it may be on my top 10 list, I should go look at my list.Quote:

I thought it was okay for awhile.......but their diction was so bad we had to put on the subtitles. Then they kept jumping around in the time line and it was easy to get confused. Most of the entire thing took place on the space ship. And the ending was sooooooooo stupid. Anyone else see it? Or was I the only sucker? haha

I watched an old Alfred Hitchcock movie--Vertigo. One of the good things about growing old is that I've forgotten so many of the movies from 50 years ago and I get to enjoy them all over again. :|(
Agreed, what a boatload of treacle that thing was. I saw it for free as part of a promotion. I consider this film part of Kevin's Spacey's "dark period" where he was flailing around, after the completely brilliant American Beauty, trying to find decent roles.Quote:

Now, circling back to film: I love Sandra Bullock and I am SO FREAKIN' HAPPY that she's riding a tide of fabulousness. She's got a huge hit comedy in The Heat, and now she's a shoo in for Oscar nomination in Gravity.
For years I liked her very much but the groaned when we had to go see a Sandra Bullock film (DH loves her) because they were so dull. But not now, yay! Yay for her! Just--YAY!

Got to see an early premiere of "About Time." Set in contemporary England about an English father and son who can travel back in time. The wonderful Bill Nighy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bill_Nighy
plays the dad, and the rest of the actors are wonderfully cast. Not to mention the beautiful scenery in Cornwall. Really enjoyed it.
