I don't know, but she did clearly present it as closely following his story based on her many interviews with him.
As an aside, my DH has not read a book in years (much to my sorrow). He was apparently enticed enough by me talking about the book that he picked it up yesterday and read it in a day.

I finally finished Demon Copperhead and bet it will be made into a movie.

Oh so sorry Tradd, but I had to abandon the Pern book. It was too much of a slog.

it was funny coincidence that a couple of days ago on the Mr. Money Mustache site someone gave the definition of an archetype in literature, the Alpha Bastard, and used F’lor as her prime example.

other books I read or skimmed but will not recommend:

• Life in light ; by Mary Phipher. A nice memoir of childhood in the 1950’s and after, much of it in the Ozarks and midwest. Author is a”cultural therapist for her generation.” Wrote several books including Reviving Ophelia.
  
• The New Royals by Katie Nicholl. Even handed toward the Sussexes, adoring toward the Cambridges/Wales especially Katherine.

I thought Demon Copperhead was a story well told. I am not a big fiction reader but it held my attention to the end.

I need to read a Kingsolver book but have too many “have to reads” in line now so will not decide which one yet.

A Dog's Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron - found a copy for "free" on the table in the teacher's lounge at work. Not too bad, actually. Easy and pretty quick read so far.

Iris, how are you coming with the Pern book?
