Now it is confession time Library yard sale on Sunday $3.00 a bag and I bought 3 = 12 books and 50 magazines.
I know this puts me way behind, but I am much better these days about just reading the books and passing them
on and reading the magazines and tearing out an interesting article or two and then recycling or passing them on.
Okay this is my story and I am sticking to it.
Just a side thought about "stuff" - after reading for many years about the idea of toy rotation for kids, I finally had a lightbulb go off when my little dog got sooooooooo excited upon rediscovering an old toy that had been left in the yard for some months, laundered, and put back on the toy scene. I realized I could rotate his toys (which, comically enough, have grown as a collection even though we have not bought him any in months . . . he keeps finding toys, mainly balls . . . ) and he'd be so happy about it! So I gathered all the toys I could find in the yard before the leaves fell, and washed them up (the toys and balls we have wash up really well in the washing machine), and put all of them in a cupboard except for one, and he is obsessively happy about having her back right now. :)
Luckily he doesn't destroy his toys so we can do this. I just think it's funny that it took me so long to realize this. :)
He posed so patiently for this photo. It's like he knew exactly what to do. He's such a stitch.

He is posing like a professional model, very poised. Toy rotation is a very good idea.
He's adorable.
The Goodwill sacks got delivered and out of the house today. It feels so good! And I've had 2 old-style TVs I've been jonesing to get out of the house (bedroom TVs that we don't even have cable hookups to anymore), but you can't even give them away anymore, nobody wants them.....and my sister needs one! In fact she said our brother has promised her one after Christmas when they are replacing one of their bedroom TVs, and I'm going "oh no no no no! You don't want to wait till after Christmas when I can get you one tomorrow!" And she agreed, she'd like one now and will be pleased to take one of ours off my hands (she obviously has a converter box). Hurray! Delivering it to her tomorrow. November is looking like a serendipitous de-cluttering month for me.....

Ooh, score on the TV! For the other one, if it still hangs around, Best Buy now takes TVs up to 32" for free recycling. You used to have to do some monkey business with paying $10 and in exchange they would give you a $10 gift card but now it's just out-and-out free.

#18 - glass basket to Mom's
Starting total: 15
Added:
- 4 3-ring binders
- 26 books (went through "my" bookcase and determined that the >30-year-old German dictionary wasn't going to be of much help. I also parted with a copy of YMOYL. I think I'm pretty much there myself; better to pass it on to someone else who can decide to get his/her life back [there's probably a newer edition besides]. And a bunch of other books I don't look at and would just as soon borrow from the library if I ever get the jones to do so)
- 3 small pieces of computer equipment
- 3 empty CD cases (I'm not generating any more burned CDsand if the thrift store needs cases for CDs...)
- a set of thank-you notes with a theme no longer applicable to me
- 18 pens, pencils, and highlighters. I can't remember the last time I highlighted anything on a piece of paper.
- old battery to a mobile phone that's not here anymore
New total: 71 items. I'm still thinking if I want to count 18 writing implements separately, though.
[EDIT]Nah, not doing it. Counting it as one bunch of writing implements. 54 items. I've got plenty of time to find other things. :)
