I've not kept up with the supposed Somali fraud, buy there are about 100,000 Somali in Minnesota and most of them were either born here or are naturalized citizens. I sort of doubt the majority were involved in illegal activities or are here illegally. No doubt some are guilty as charged.
In the days of government unthruths, a person has to consider the veracity of the source and the magnitude of the perpetrators influence..
"The sheer size of the Trump family’s total earnings from such profiteering creates a newhighwater mark for corruption. In July 2025, The New York Times estimated that cryptocurrencyventures had added as much as $7.1 billion to the Trump family’s total net worth."

I suspect there is much more to the grift.
OMG Do I Ever Hear You!!! It is amazing how much more dignified the Canadian Head of State is. As an example, youtube has vIdeos of Mexican President Claudia Scheinbaum interacting with Mark Carney at the G7. It is almost otherwordly at this point to watch these two intelligent, educated, capable, and dignified heads of state interacting with one another. I miss this a little from the Obama years. Rob

seasoning and read description. A business that stands behind their beliefs!
LOL, don't forget to season liberally.
Penzys flies its Progressive flag high. There was some sort of dust up several years ago about politics and the owners, and they broke up.
There was a Watkins store near me some years ago, but it’s been gone for a while. I had the impression Watkins was involved in multilevel level marketing since one of my employees walked around with a Watkins catalogue trying to sell the product to coworkers.
Yes, Watkins is MLM, but you can buy some of their spices at Walmarts and Menards, in my experience.
Yes, Bill Penzey is extremely outspoken about politics, quite liberal.
Watching the news:
Warships on the way to Iran
Agents sent AGAIN to Fulton County, Georgia to check 2020 voter records
Talk of giving $1,000 tax free to new babies until 2028?
Didn’t even finish watching the news… just shut it off. Can’t wait until this administration is gone!
I spent a couple hours this morning talking to some older German folks about how Denazification worked after WWII.
Their assessment: "We spent a lot of time and effort on it, but it did not go well. It's only our grandchildren that have finally really picked up the work."
Does this have anything to do with the recent revelation that about 300,000 early votes were improperly certified during the 2020 election? https://www.atlantanewsfirst.com/202...er-signatures/
That could be one version of the narrative. These seem to be his words. I'm still in the revenge tour side of things.
The search was conducted a week after Trump reiterated during comments in Davos, Switzerland, his longstanding and debunked claim that the 2020 voting "was a rigged election."
"People will soon be prosecuted for what they did," Trump said in Davos.
Trump unsuccessfully sought to overturn the 2020 election result, pressuring Georgia's top election official to "find" votes that would allow him to claim victory. Several reviews and a hand audit of ballots confirmed that Biden narrowly won the state.

To be honest, I really don't know much about the malfeasance version to say it's wrong, but it's the first I've heard of it and there's always which source is the most reliable. Because Trump has been on a revenge tour to virtually erase any indication he lost the election or may have tried to rig it, including pardoning rioters whom waned to hang Pence, I may be seeing a same pattern that others are seeing and jumping to conclusions. I'm glad you considered that view point as well.
Edit to add: Hasn't this already been investigated? Since the DOJ now works for Trump, I suppose the outcome could be different.
anyone else feel it is dangerous to speak freely now?
I take some reassurance from that, Rosa, here goes:
ICE agents shatter window, leave 1-month-old baby, mother in car after Portland arrest
I am afraid to drive to the city to see my grandchildren. I am afraid for their safety every day.
I've not seen any unusual presence of ICE here, which is sort of surprising since Denver is sort of a sanctuary city and has been on Trump's blue state revenge tour. I have friends who have attended rallies without any problems other than the usual middle finger salutes. Here in the burbs I'm not seeing day workers outside Home Depot like I used to. If I put a Dump Trump or No King bumper sticker on my car, I'd expect a high probably someone would do some vandalizing in a parking area, and I sure wouldn't put a sign in my yard.
ICE has been around St.Louis for months in random sightings. Their office is in an old unused federal building downtown next to the Post Office. From what I can tell, St. Louis is a Sanctuary city “light” in that the mayor in her eagerness to play with the Big Kid Sanc Cities declared it friendly to immigrants, but I’m not aware of any formal declaration by the police department that they don’t cooperate with the feds in apprehending and turning over immigrant lawbreakers. The police department here does not report to the mayor and there is often friction.
Cynics have opined that there won’t be extreme ICE shenanigans here because Missouri is a strong 2A state with a Stand Your Ground gun support law, so ICE will never know what’s on the other side of a front door they’re knocking down. I thought this was a silly but interesting take.
My former neighborhood, true to form, put out a call for volunteers to harass ICE and published the vigilante’s manifesto on the Neighborhood‘s Facebook page.
I think they are occupying Minneapolis, are starting to occupy Portland, and I have heard they are moving next to Boston, with that last being a rumor. But Minneapolis is literally under siege and it has started in Portland. Susan Collins arrested clergyman yesterday for praying outside her office in Portland.
Yes. I have received cowardly threats over the past several years for my work in the community, and in the state legislature.
I don't give a shit though. If a person with my level of power and privilege gets cowed, well, what does that mean for everyone else? So I proceed.
Thank you,,Bae,
I watch what I put on FB, that's to be sure, but that's the only place. I'm active on Reddit.
No, even though I don't enjoy the protective power and privilege of others I do enjoy a rational temperament and ability to see the difference between emotional outbursts and reasonable discourse. Until the time rationality becomes offensive I see no reason for concern.
Some people are not rational, and become upset if you are, and that can cause issues.
I received anonymous threats for simply asking to see a copy of the agency's budget and the quarterly financial report on my first day as an elected official responsible for overseeing that agency. I was accosted by a group of angry employees in the parking lot that evening, two of whom attempted to violate my personal space while exhibiting quite threatening body language. They probably came within a second of lots of paperwork and post-incident reports having to be filed.
One of my fellow commissioners had their automobile vandalized multiple times, and the company they worked at received all sorts of anonymous phone calls asking that they be fired. Someone "bumped" one of my fellow commissioners in a parking lot with an automobile. A campaign of vile sexual innuendo was launched against one of the female commissioners. Etc.
I had to have the Sheriff send deputies to several of our meetings as a result of this level of nonsense.
I thought asking for the budget and the report was quite rational, especially as that was my legal duty, and I would have been on the hook personally if I'd just signed off on things blindly. Some of the folks there thought that was a threat to the Chief. That Chief is no longer with the agency, many budgetary irregularities were in fact uncovered, as well as a culture of intimidation and retribution within the agency. Most of those people no longer work there anymore.
You are always interested in other points of view. Here is one expounded upon.

Less than 5 minutes in is discussion.
Thanks for that, I haven't had the opportunity to see or hear any of the personalities from the former MSNBC, current MSNOW since we hit the road in November. I have to admit though that while I was willing to watch your video for nearly an hour just to hear another opinion, I didn't make it past the first 3.5 minutes as in just that short time Jen Psaki referred to Tom Homan as 'dark and evil', Donald Trump as 'unhinged, unpopular grandpa' and this administration's most recent Cabinet meeting as 'North Korean style meeting where members go around the room lavishly trying to one-up each other by praising him". I think I got the gist of the extended discussion from that so I decided to do something useful instead rather than waste the remaining 45 minutes. Thanks though!
Apparently today is National Shutdown day as some form of protest. "No work, no, school, no shopping". Got it.
My legacy news seems mystified as to what the FBI is after in Georgia as well as Gabbard's appearance, although Trump being a bad loser is most often mentioned. I guess time will tell.
The price of silver has dropped 35% today with the new Fed chairman announcement, not that that is an indicator or anything significant interest unless one likes to speculate.
