It’s beginning to look like it might have been a medical issue. There’s usually a lot of scuttle butt going around if deaths were caused by something correctable (aka diver made a mistake and would have lived if he did something different). Nothing about that in this case.
If you have a medical emergency under water, I'm sure your options are limited. I'm so sorry Tradd. My cousin died during his first dive in California, while his daughter tried frantically to save him. I never heard whether it was an equipment problem or a medical event. As you say, you never know...
