Clean surfaces are so nice.

Yes and much easier to dust too!! Usually the only other thing on top of the TV stand besides the TV is the wax melt warmer which can be easily placed on the floor when dusting. And a few times a year, I will have a tiered tray display on the other side of the TV but I've been going back and forth about whether or not to keep the decor and/or the tiered tray. I have about 5 sets of decor and it usually only takes up the front half of each "tray". Can't decide if it's worth it. I like the sets I have but I'm also kind of tired of them too... if that makes sense. I think the only ones I have left are for Winter, St Patrick's Day, July 4th, Halloween, and Thanksgiving. So it's out pretty sporadically throughout the year.
Unexpected decor declutter. My "Hello Summer" garland broke and no way to fix it. I thought about replacing it but decided against it. I wanted to go more minimal and this is my sign I guess.
I am not a gardener so nothing to use from my yard except when I use pinecones in the Fall for decor. Storing my decor is not an issue. I have the room and most of my decor is small so it doesn't take up much space anyway.
I did decide to get rid of the other three garlands I use on my fireplace mantle. They were always a pain to hang and needed a bunch of packing tape to stay put and even then would sometimes fall. I kept the couple that I use on my kitchen bay window. Those get attached with hooks so they stay put.
Klunick: You were clearly infested with gnomes!
I was. I think total I had at least 30 of the small gnomes and 9-10 of the large ones. I looked earlier and I have 16 small ones and 5 large ones now. So, half are now gone. That's good, in my opinion. I now have only 1-2 for each holiday or season instead of 3-4 like before .
Yes. The armoire I had them in looks so empty now. I decided to do an experiment because I honestly can't decide to declutter my tiered tray and all the decor that goes on it. It was fun decorating it for the last several years but I am kind of over it. Like the mantle, sometimes it frustrated me to no end trying to arrange everything to look nice.
I bagged up the decor and put it and the tiered tray in a cabinet in my TV stand. Since I won't be using any of that until at least October for Halloween , if I am happy with how things look without it, those items will go.
I only have tiered tray stuff for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Winter, St Patrick's Day, and the 4th of July. When I decorate for Halloween and like how it looks without the tray, those will go. Same with Thanksgiving and so on. If I do find I miss a certain holiday/season's tray decor, I will keep those but honestly, I fully expect by this time next year, everything will have been decluttered.
This post is really sticking with me. Yesterday, I actually looked at my living room (specifically the TV stand and end table) as both have very limited items on them. TV stand has the TV and a wax melt warmer. End table has a lamp on it. I never noticed how much I enjoy not having a lot on those spaces. Those spaces are also where I put the tiered tray (TV stand) and any large gnome (end table) when I decorate for certain seasons/holidays. Not sure I want to ruin that look anymore. Pretty sure the tray and decor are getting decluttered sooner than later. The more I think about it, the less I want to continue using it. I've been decorating it for three years and I think it's run its course. The large gnomes are cute and since I put them towards the back of the end table where the lamp is, they don't obstruct the table much and I only have a couple now so 95% of the year, nothing but the lamp will be on it. Think I will keep them and just have that table and the mantle decorated and leave the other side of the TV stand bare.
