A couple days ago, I posted I was getting rid of all my fireplace tools and accessories because cleaning out the fireplace after every fire started to feel like a lot. I had everything in my trunk to go but because I didn't drop it off right away, I started to second guess myself.
I ended up deleting my post and putting the stuff back. I am not planning on using the fireplace this Fall or Winter but I want to see if anyone in the house says anything. If not, then I will feel more comfortable getting rid of everything. I don't normally like to hold onto items that I am not planning on using but I will this time as I want to be sure I don't change my mind and have regrets.
I love having fires in the fireplace but the clean up is messy. I also spray painted the inside of the fireplace and I am not 100% I used the correct kind of paint. I saw a YouTube video coincidentally about using the wrong paint and the house possibly catching on fire.

Is there someone you could call at the fire department to ask about the paint you used?

Considering when we had a kitchen fire back in 2000 and the Fire Department wouldn't even come out because we had already extinguished it, I don't really trust what they say would be accurate.
