I fall under several of those letters, and did not find his words disrespectful. Perhaps a more productive path as an "ally" would be to engage in discussion about language/statements you find troublesome, instead of going into attack mode.

You issued him an order, and accused him of not having respect. That's attack-mode. It shuts down communication. Doesn't bring about further understanding. Probably turns people away from the conversation. Bad ally-ship.

And just because you were not offended does not mean that no one else in the LGBTQQIA community would not be. But I don't often make a big deal about being offended or offending people. Which was why I was like "Come on, dude"/"Have some respect."
