Hoarders tend to put feelings on objects such as a doll would get it's feelings hurt if no one bought it, etc. The people that have been most successful have a specific type of cognitive behavioral therapy designed for hoarders. If you just use the regular CBT the results show about 30% recovered. Small studies with the new technique show up to a 70% success rate. UL: different studies use different criteria as I am sure you are aware. No if someone is sober for a month and keeps relapsing l would not call that successful. You can research it if you are interested.
