Very Important Subjects

Okay---here's some more VERY important stuff. They make those Pagoda(brand) Egg Rolls. Found in the frozen foods section. Well, Bare Walls Mart handles the brand, but ONLY the chicken & pork flavored kind. See--I prefer the cabbage kind(vegetable) that the local supermarket carries. They are okay if microwaved, but what is muich better is when you MW them for a minute to thaw & preheat them, then fry in a small skillet. I make the frying medium using Aldi onion soup mix, and then add butter or whatever and some other sprinkle-ons and fry them at low heat. It's tricky and takes practice, but done right they are ahhh-summm and a-may-zeen. Yup. Even though they're frozen food, a box of them goes a long way & makes them fairly economical. But yeah--you can use stuff like ranch dressing, etc., to add calories. Just don't fry the dressing. Yup. Hope that helps you kids some. Okay---now, it's time to head out to the driveway to work on my 4 x4 suburban project. I got it 1 1/2 years ago, for only $350. It had been sitting in the woods for years.

Okay---here's a recent fender-bender involving an all-electric, self-driving Tesla automobile, and a truck hauling goods to Bare Walls Mart. If you'll notice, the FD rescue squad has a box o' tools and a hydraulic ram set up to try and lift the trailer, 'cause the Tessla is definitely stuck under there. Attachment 4598

I think the 45 had a lot more staying power than Webtv, which was a real flash in the pan. I actually still have a modest collection of 45s, although I can't tell you the last time I played one. I think you are right about the email addresses though. I know people who still use AOL addresses.

But yeah---45's. The last 45 rpm I purchased was on EBay, for $5 in really good shape. See--I was in the groc. store one night(where you hear all the classics on the P.A.), and I heard an old Beach Boys song being sung by someone I did not recognize. Research at home revealed that the BBs covered this 1950's Rock song as such, but that in 1972, Bette Midler sung it as a ballad, with Barry Manilow accompanying her on piano. Ha. Not a fan of either, but Midlers version of this was pretty good. But, yeah---I'm going to reorganize my 45's, and set up a (new) turntable I bought maybe 10 years ago, and connect it to a 1950's tube amp "hi-fi" that is a family heirloom. But, the "hi-fi" will need a "re-cap" and stuff. So, that's why I am following the tube amp repair people on youtube. See? Most, but not all 45's were mono-phonic, and some were recorded in stereo. But, live bands--well, they are mono. Well, aren't they? One of my oldest 45's is Wild Thing, recorded by the Troggs, which I purchased while still in jr hi. The writer of the song, Chip Taylor, is still active, believe it or not. Ha. Hope that helps you some. Thankk Mee.

Okay---nother thing about Webtv was no sound, either. But they had special webtv background music, some of which I enjoyed very much. "Ambient" was the category I chose. But guess what? Someone has posted a collection of that webtv background music on youtube. Thank them. Ha. But yeah--I listen to it, once in awhile.

Here's something else----I was in thee Big Box Hdwe store, and noticed two things: mis-mixed paint has doubled in price, and also they didn't have the nuts n stuff I came for. Out of stock! They are bout as bad as Bare Walls Mart. I went to the farm supply, which is where I shoulda gone anyway. I got the nuts-n-threaded rod n big washers I needed to install inner front axle seals on my monster $350 Suburban. See--the guy on the only youtube video said do-like-I-do--Beat them in with a Hammer. Ha. Well, that won't work very well; you'll wreck a $12 seal or drive it in crooked. So, I got a length of threaded rod & nuts n washers and drew them in, gently. The old seals weren't even leaking; it's just that a)it's a 35-year old vehicle, and at some point they WILL start leaking, and IU'm not getting any younger. b) I had the axles out to refurbish the u-joints and steering linkage, etc. Yup. I know what you kids are thinking: why waste your time on an old junker? Why not just go to the official, authorized NEW truck dealer, and "pull the trigger" on a nice, new, sharp, new monster truck? Ha. No way. But where was I? Oh yeah--at the Big Box, on the PA system was playing "This Magic Moment" by Jay & The Americans. They get very little recognition in this part of the country. It is Brill Building Music, with superb studio production, which I happen to be a fan of. Anyway, we lost "Jay" just last year, unfortunately. But yeah--you can still listen to J&TA on youtube; I still have mine on a 45 rpm from back in '68. Yup. Hope that helps you kids some. Thankk mee.

I'm fairly sure that I have "Wild Thing" in my 45 collection, although I'm too lazy to confirm that at the moment.

Okay, yeah---Wild thing. The same guy had another hit, also performed by another artiste. It is "Angel in the Mornin'. As I said, I'm not into lyrical content. Nope. I'm like your music teacher--it's the sound, the instruments, the melody, da riddim. Not sappy lyrics. You won't catch me going to any Kris Kristofferson Concerts. Nope. Also---I'm following you kids on Strava.
