I don't know what Rachel Maddow supports--I've never heard her hold forth on food science--but nutrition findings as promoted by various government agencies are seriously flawed, if not criminally corrupt. A minor hero of mine is Dr. Marcia Angell, who as an editor of the NEJM. She said the following:
