Achtung---Just wanted to let you kids know that I've run out of very important subjects to discuss, here. Yup. At least for the time being. Hope that helps you some. Maybe, one of these days, we can have a discussion of Poky. Attachment 4645Attachment 4645

Okay----Looky here. A special treat for you kids---a picture of one of the surviving members of the Mop-Topped Foursome, at home grilling MEAT. Or maybe Tofu. Isn't that awesome and amay-zeen? Attachment 4648

Okay---at the local downtown reurbafucation renovated 100-year old mooo-veee theater, they also have touring acts, calculated to appeal to gentrified hilllbillies. Yup. So, pretty soon---they'll be able to see both Lyle Lovett PLUS John Hiatt, the same evening. Isn't that special? Ha. The good seats are $661, but there are some cheap seats left, at $177. Not many, so hurry. I ought to attend, but I already know how sucky their so-called music really is. But, you can go. You don't need my permission. Ha. I ONLY like studio-recorded songs by one(or two)-hit wonders, that feature elaborate production. See? Hope that helps you some.Attachment 4650Attachment 4650

Okay---What I'm doing is wearing a covid mask to bed. Yup. But see--it's not to avoid catching covid. Nope. But yeah--I wear a mask at night for one reason: to reduce throat irritation and coughing, due to fans running & causing my throat & sinuses to dry out and become sore and also to prevent inhaling airborne particles, such as cat fur, which cause coughing fits. See? I know that some people like to suggest simplistic, toss-the-baby-with-the-bathwater solutions, such as turn off all fans and rehome those damn cats. Yup. But, that is not a viable option, for mee. So, I wear a mask, and sometimes have to reposition it during the night, if it slips off. See? Hope that helps you some. Also, those Ricola cough lozenges help, too. Hope that helps you some. Attachment 4657

Okay---Here's a delightful story for you kids. A facebooker out in Co. has a disassembled Studebaker V8 he is selling in bits n pieces. I already bought one cardboard box full, and am sending him more cash for more "stuff" from that old car motor. The parts are greasy, grimy, dirty & dusty, but not too rusty. But, yeah--it is things I would like to keep on hand. I can probably use them, for a project. Since I've about cleared out my file cabinet drawers containing parts from my disassembled suburban, I can just stash the studey parts in them. See? You can't just go down to the mall or big box, and pick out nice, new, CLEAN and shiny Studebaker engine parts, that's for sure! Ha. So yeah--it is prudent that I acquire these. Yup. Hope that helps you some. Attachment 4658

Okay----here's something that is very troubling: Aldi's has not had any Chefs' Cupboard Onion Soup mix in stock, lately. I'm just wondering if it isn't Bidens fault? I ALWAYS try to keep an ample supply of it on hand, but have had to purchase alternative brands that are much more expensive and not as yummy and ahhh-summm and a-may-zeen. Yup. What are your thoughts on this? Keep your comments respectful. Hope we can help this situation some. Attachment 4671

Looky-----A photo of a yummy, awesome & amazing steak, served at The Big Texan, outside Amarillo. See--you pay the $75 in advance, but if you can eat the WHOLE meal, peppers and all, in under One hour, your money will be refunded! Sound fair enough? Yup. Too bad they don't have something like this in I-wah, right at the junction of I-80 and I-35. Yup.Attachment 4676

Okay----Have you kids ever considered starting up your own Cat Club? Or maybe joining a Cat Club that already exists? But yeah---Cat Clubs cat be a good idea, but there are certain caveats. Yup. Right now, the Cat Club I belong to is working on a project to determin the dollar-value of cats. Are they worth $100 or $10000? or what? That's the question. So, yeah. the internal auditors are gathering the inputs and crunching the umbers. Will let you kids know, asap. Hope that helps you some.Attachment 4679

Okay---I wanted to discuss a Very Important Subject, with you kids. What needs clarification is: Just what is meant by a "stray cat"?

Okay---I got out there in the 90+, and put the tie rod & steering stabilizer on. The tie rod is oh, about 4 feet long, with theball ends that screw in at each end. One side has left-hand threads, and you have jam nuts. This is so you can adjust the toe-in. Then, theres a tapered hole in the left rod end to hold the steering stabilizer, and the other end of the stabilizer attached to the crossmember(frame). See--it's like a shock absorber, so that with this type of steering, it reduces bump steer. But see--the previous owner had run this suburban into stationary objects--tree & rocks---and the tie rod had a bend in it. Well, I took a heavy piece of rusty rectangular tubing that I had lying around for YEARS, cluttering up the place and lowering property values, ran a tow chain through it and set a floor jack on the tubing and then fastened the chain to the tie rod, with it set on the saddle of the jack, and used the hydraulic jack to straighten the tie rod out. I have an aluminum straight edge that I bought on-sale at the nearby big box, that comes in handy for gauging straightness. See? So, I screwed the nice, new and GREASY tie rod ends into the tie rod, and wire brushed it and painted it and installed it, then, put the stabilizer on. I was one 7/16 nf nut short to hold the stabilizer on, but I went out back in my collection of 40 years worth of used, salvage automotive hardware, and found a nut. See? Saved a trip to get one; no small thing because traffic is murder & bidengas is expensive. So, I put in zero miles, today. Then, I ended up hunting for an hour for the brake caliper rebuild kits & the brakes hoses. I could have sworn I bought them, but they weren't in my file cabinets and I looked through the suburban, to see if they were there. Nope. Well, the previous owner told me he had put new brake pads on the front, and they were still out there, lying on the ground. I wheeled them to clean them up, and painted the bare metal with some black bbq paint. Will re-use, as is. But, I'm missing the caliper bolts! I know they are around here; it's a matter of locating them. As it started to get dark, I finally located the nice, clean, safe NEW brake hoses and caliper kits! They were in the back of the suburban, next to my box of AT fluid. See--to use the time productively while I contemplated having to buy new brake hoses & cal kits($50), I added 4 quarts of type F fluid to the trans. See--I had dropeed the pan on it last fall & changed the filter and installed a drain plug in the pan, so it was low on fluid. But yeah---adding Type F(specified for old, old, Fords) is a hot rodders' trick. It has friction additives that firm up the shifts on those too-smooth GM transmissions, so the clutches will last longer. Supposedly, anyway. So, anyway--tomorrow I will finish up the front brakes and start the engine and top off the trans fluid. Did I tell you kids I found the original window sticker?? 35 years ago, the msrp was close to $25,000, for this loaded Suburban 4x4. How do you like that? Will keep you kids informed on further progress. Also, here's a bonus photo of a I-wah 2018 Suburban for sale, with just 95,000 miles on it! It was ONLY used to drive-n-eat. Comfort galore, for fat old geezers. That's why they ONLY want $24,000 for 'er. Plus, you gotta pay sales tax & take out a loan, too. Plus, carry FULL coverage ins. Ha. Yup.
